Just blast me a PM so I know how many to get copied.
For those that don't know, which I imagine is most, I am internetless 5 days a week right now so excuse me for late replies. Tuesday is my Saturday, Wednesday is my Sunday so I do have internet.
Cheers

Say uh, what happened to this? It kind of died like WCF T-Shirts. I'll just bring it back into the spotlight since I'm sure many of us want that poster.

I can't get past the copy protection. I am taking it to a lovely store on East Hastings when I am done working on Keats Island (15 September). Until then my free time is too valuable for ferry geekery

Here's an important post from another thread: Before anyone gets in trouble for reproducing the fleet poster, I am the original artist of the main painting at head office that the poster was taken from. This a copyrighted image and my not be reproduced without express permission of the copyright owner, who in this case is BCFC. It is possible that they have some left as the original commission was 500 limited edition prints and unlimited posters to be sold in the ships' gift shops. I'm sure, with enough demand they would run another batch of the posters. I you have any questions regarding this matter contact me at 426gtx@telus.net My name is Thomas McCliesh. Let's be clear: - this forum will not be sanctioning or encouraging any unauthorized reproductions of this artist's work. If anyone wants to break the law and disrespect the owner's rights, please don't talk about it on this forum. If you want to contact BCFS about buying posters, this here thread would be a great place to talk and get a plan going.

I suppose we can try and go through the artist, then.

If you want to contact BCFS about buying posters, this here thread would be a great place to talk and get a plan going. If the copyright is with BCFC one would probably have more success finding it through Archives and going to The Queen's Printers. It's public material. Old school. **edit, I think I misunderstood what you were getting at - you meant contact BCF to see if they had any left overs, rather than to get a new copy? Because that does seem like a sensible idea.

I think the easiest approach is to contact BCFS to see if they have any remaining posters to sell.
I don't think the "request another print run" is a realistic expectation. But who knows what they might be willing to do?

If it is at Archives, and they don't have an issue with reproduction, making one would be relatively cheap. Just not easy, at least the first time. BCFS, like me, wouldn't have an ability to reprint the poster at whim. That said, I don't really think the copyright is even valid anymore? However the artist seems to have clearly expressed he doesn't want them copied and I am more than happy to oblige that sentiment.

OK, let's be clear here, I don't have a problem about reproducing the poster, as a matter of fact I'm quite flattered by the interest. The 500 limited edition prints, it there are any left, which I doubt, belong to the Ferries. The posters on the other hand were unlimited in production. While people at BCFC my have long ago forgotten or lost the original printers contract, I do know who has the original image on file and can print it off. I will do some calling and find out the particulars. Although I'm the artist and in a normal situation I would still have the reproduction rights, part of the commission of the original piece was the reproduction rights. They may have expired as some suggest, I'll check. I will keep you all posted as to what I come up with. Thanks for your interest. Thomas McCliesh

To keep you updated on the fleet review poster, I have found in one of my portfolio cases, 8 original mint condition posters (didn't know I'd any left). Now, if I have no success in printing more, I will let you know how much these 8 are and how to get them. I will have more info soon and perhaps will be able to print this image on canvas as a large print and not in the poster format. They of course will be more expensive, but lots nicer.
