About when is she going to get her gold stripes and be retired? All WSF ferries get their gold stripes when they turn 50, so for the Spokane that will be 2022. Per the Long Range Plan, she will be retired in 2033, but as with anything WSF related, I'd take that with a grain of salt.

i think actually that she will be around longer than 2030's bc she is looking like she just came outta the factory a couple years ago aside from the rust on the car deck.

She may look practically brand new on the outside but her interior is getting kind of worn out. I just rode on her yesterday and there were several seats that needed to be re-upholstered.

Add to that the state mandated vessel retirement age of 60, and 2032 should be Spokane's final year. Of course, they haven't necessarily been following that. If Tillikum stays in the fleet until 2023, she will be 64. Elwha and Hyak barely made it past 50, so I guess it depends on the vessel's condition. It is conceivable Spokane could be kept beyond her 60 year mark if the vessel is still in good condition, but I doubt it would be too many years beyond - maybe a few.

When did Spokane headed to Bainbridge Island? When was the last she served a route other than Edmonds to Kingston route?

When did Spokane headed to Bainbridge Island? When was the last she served a route other than Edmonds to Kingston route? Spokane swapped places with Kaleetan at Bainbridge two-ish weeks ago (it's more reliable to crew both boats at Edmonds that way, to my understanding). Spokane was on the Bremerton route in May of last year and at Bainbrdige previously in September 2020.

Today marks the 50th anniversary of the Spokane’s maiden voyage. The Spokane also happens to be filling in on the Bainbridge route.
