The YAKIMA is on her way to a harbor hospital. The Friday Harbor terminal is back in business. Let's thank the operator of this cam, for providing these good images, by visiting their site often. www.desticam.com/fridayharbor/

Must be likely for footies. Viewed on ship trackers, the Tug GARTH FOSS is nearing Friday Harbor from Anacortes. Catch the action on this cam: www.desticam.com/fridayharbor/(Refresh the cam if needed) Looking at that webcam, is appears someone is finally building something on the site that Downriggers used to occupy. That's been vacant for some time now, so it's good to see a new building in progress there - wonder what it will be? It'll be a restaurant, if I recall correctly. It's been under construction for months--that's the second story in the foreground.

enjoypt.com/port-townsend-web-cam/Only one image from the Port Townsend cam will be shown tonight. It was a little bit windy there so the cam isn't fully sharp as it often is. Nevertheless, this shows you that the YAKIMA is fully lit by her interior lights despite the electrical fire she had today. The little white dot on the left of the screen was that of the aft end of the KENNEWICK as she nears Keystone. The YAKIMA is getting close to getting her golden stripes painted on her funnels. The KENNY is still a youngster. The YAKIMA is no stranger to Port Townsend. I've seen her do trips on the 90-minute Edmonds to Port Townsend Hood Canal Bridge sinking detour run back in 1979. *** That's it from me tonight. You may be able to see the YAKIMA on the Bainbridge Cam when she's in Eagle Harbor nearing the VMC as viewed on ship trackers. ferrycam.com/ccbainsea.htm

Yakima left Eagle Harbor under tow around 7 this morning. I couldn't get any pictures due to the sun's glare.
Where is she headed? Bellingham? Vancouver?

He photographed her under tow this morning from his webcams.

I noticed the name on front of the wheelhouse. Did WSF paint the names on the fronts of the wheelhouses on the Supers before nameplates were added (I couldn't tell if it was photo-shopped or not)?

Great find! I didn't think there were names on the front of the wheel houses, painted or otherwise, when the Supers entered service. Was this Yakima one painted on, or was it a banner for the event? curious.

Love the 67 Ford WSP car. They used the inverted State Patrol logo from 65-67.

There's a picture on page 118 of The Evergreen Fleet by Harre Demoro which shows the same thing. Page 113 notes the "newly-installed name board" on the Kaleetan. The Evergreen Fleet was published in 1971 so the name boards on the Supers didn't show up until just before publication of the book. The only other Super with a name board on it I can find in the book is of the Hyak on page 32, which means it must have been taken around the same time as the Kaleetan shot and not long before the publishing date.

The Yakima has been running relatively slow this week (>15 knots on every trip). Does anyone have an idea as to why this is, because her normal speed is around 17 knots.

She seems to be running slower as of late. Service bulletins from today and yesterday mention "slower vessel speed" as a reason why she has been running behind schedule.

She had some mechanical issues and was waiting for parts. They've been replaced and she's back with it.

Saw the Yakima in Eagle Harbor today, and she now has her gold stripes. She's getting old! . Looking forward to her showing off those stripes up in the SJIs soon.
