The WENATCHEE has met the COASTAL INSPIRATION and will be turning north. It would be fun to be in the public observatory at CYVR. You can see the ferries on the TSA-DUK and the HSB-DPB runs. The people should be seeing the WENATCHEE at this time through several public telescopes in the observatory. Next cam spotting is at: towercam.arts.ubc.ca/view/viewer_index.shtml?id=5447

Did she go into harbor under her own power?

I think she did sail under how own power all the way up. Does anyone know when she is suppose to be back in service?? Would love to see her in Vancouver even depart Vancouver. If she does either Monday or Tuesday I might be able to see her as I have an extra long weekend.

If she does either Monday or Tuesday I might be able to see her as I have an extra long weekend. She absolutely sailed into Vancouver Harbour under her own steam. The trackers showed her doing a small sea trial session east before setting her keel in drydock. Keep a daily watch on the pilot order site, its link is already provided on this thread. Being a good sport I am, here it is again: pilot.kleinsystems.com/public/PPA/PPA_CurrentTraffic.aspxGreat postcard views, Mike, and I like your photos "Coastal Skier".

Here are some more photos of the Wenatchee from the foot of Lonsdale. Shout out to Coastal Skier for sending me a 'heads up' text message. I basically ran down the hill, and she was just passing Stanley Park/First Narrows when I arrived. Anyways, here are the photos... With Downtown Vancouver: In front of VDD:

I happened to be driving by the Drydock around 9pm last night. The Wenatchee was tied up adjacent to the drydock on the east side.

That was short? Did she even go in the Drydock? Must of fixed it pretty quick!

That is quick! Assuming they don't have to do anything else, Wenatchee may be ready to go back into service tomorrow. That would be a very good thing, given the current crisis the ferry system is in this week. Put Wenatchee back at Bainbridge along with Puyallup, move Walla Walla up to Kingston, and then Chelan can return back to Anacortes. At least there will be some semblance of normalcy. Bremerton will still be at reduced capacity, however.

The WENATCHEE is on her way south from North Vancouver. The WENATCHEE crossed the Tsawwassen - Active Pass ferry lanes at 2237PDT. A ferry 100 feet longer than her crossed her bow just prior to that. Just wondering how many lights are on aboard the WENATCHEE? She would be a very pretty sight up there.

One more chart of interest for the time being: Back fully on USA waters. The crew can safely store the Canadian Flag for another time. It's back to two USA flags displayed aboard this ferry, one at each end.

Went by my house here at Village Point, Lummi Island at 11:48 PM. I tried to get a picture but it didn't turn out too good. Sure looked great all lit up, I know a common sight for you down sound, not common here.

Just out of curiosity I did a check on the Wenatchee and found that as of 6:15ish she was already about to pass Port Townsend.

Wenatchee's at Kingston now. The alert bulletin says she is going to replace Chelan mid day. I was expecting Wenatchee to replace Walla Walla at Bainbridge, and then Walla Walla moving up to Kingston to replace Chelan. Perhaps they will do the Wenatchee/Walla Walla switch overnight.

Didn't they want to keep a JMII up at E-K for extra vehicle capacity? In which case the Walla Walla would stay at Bainbridge and the only shift that could happen, if WSF has the crew to do it, would be to swap the Puyallup and the Wenatchee so that they get back to their regular routes.

That was short? Did she even go in the Drydock? Must of fixed it pretty quick! Yeah, that was quick! Well, they only had to replace the stern tube, which was probably ready and waiting for the boat to arrive at Vancouver. With two weeks notice they have enough time to get everything ready to go for when the boat gets there.
