Hello all,
I wasn't sure if this belong here or instead in "In Their Wake - BC's Historic Ships". I'm sure one of the moderators can move the thread if appropriate.
I'm wondering about collections of historic photos of BC Ferries terminals? I've been taking the ferry regularly for 25 years now and in that time some terminals have seen lots of upgrades and others not so much.
I'm personally interested in Horseshoe Bay, Langdale, Earl's Cove and Saltery Bay but it would be interesting to examine the historic imagery from all the terminals.

Searching for the keyword "terminal" yields a lot of results Thanks for the other thread link - More operational that historic/pictorial.

Searching for the keyword "terminal" yields a lot of results Thanks for the other thread link - More operational that historic/pictorial. Most of what you are looking for is going to be captured in photos that are classified according to ship name. - retired ships are in their own threads, in the historical page. You'll no doubt see lots of old terminals in those pictures. - current ships may still have some old terminals in the pictures, in the current-ship thread (BC Ferry photo page, sorted by ship-class, in the sub-boards on top of the pages). ie Queen of Burnaby will have some photos dating back to the 1960's or 70's......so you never know what old terminal stuff will be seen in the background. The general-discussion terminal thread has lots of recent pictures, but likely not too much historic. I think you're looking at a fun but long journey through our ferry-photo threads, so too what old infrastructure you can find. Sorry, we don't categorize our photos by terminal.......just by ship. Cheers and welcome.

Yes I've seen a few good shots around the site, I'll keep searching and see if any further recommendations or collections pop up in this thread.

Sorry, we don't categorize our photos by terminal.......just by ship. That would be a good idea for sometime in the future. We could have a sub-board with all the ferry-class sub-boards, then a thread for each ferry terminal. Terminals on smaller routes could share threads, like Alert Bay, Port McNeill, and the other terminal on that route, and major terminals, pretty much from the size of Prince Rupert, Skidegate Landing, or Bear Cove, right up to Tsawwassen, could have their own threads.

The photo originally posted here has been moved to the SGI Terminals photo thread, as per the response from Mr. Horn, below. Perhaps this thread should be locked, archived or deleted altogether? There is almost nothing worth keeping here.
Montague Harbour with Mayne Queen approaching berth - Summer 1970
This is a fresh scan of a photo that I have previously displayed in the historical ferry photos thread. I thought that another copy in this 'historic terminals' thread might be appropriate.
Which brings up some questions for the moderators to consider: 1 - All photos both new and old of currently 'in service' terminals belong in the specific threads already in existence - yes/no? 2 - This thread should be used only for photos (old & new) of abandoned terminals such as Montague Harbour & Kelsey Bay - yes/no? 3 - Alternatively Montague Harbour photos should be in with SGI Terminals, and Kelsey Bay in with Northern Routes Terminals? 4 - This thread should be moved into either the Terminal Photos section, or maybe the 'In their Wake' retired ship section - yes/no?

I'm not sure about the question in #1 (not sure what's being asked), but here are my thoughts: 2 see my thoughts near end of #4 below 3 that's where I get a headache and look for the simpler solution, per #4 below 4 Yes, into the Terminal photos page. Thanks for finding it. - my preference is to place these into the existing separate threads (ie. mid-north and SGI). No point in a separate thread just for 2 terminals that we only have a few photos of. - I'll start the break-up process soon. Thanks for finding this thread and pointing it out to me. ================= Late edit: - thanks to a very slow computer tonight, I have now just realized that the above post is about a thread that only has 1 photo posted, and that's from tonight. So this whole issue is theoretical, and has no urgency. good, I'll leave this thread as is and see if I can find the 10 minutes that I just wasted....ugggg ...ps: no need for a separate thread for a few photos of 2 old terminals: they can please be posted in the existing SGI and mid-north threads.
