When where berth 2 built at Saltery Bay and Earls Cove? I assume by berth 2, you mean the primary berths at Saltery Bay and Earls Cove? (i.e. not the wooden berths) We know those structures were in place by the late 70s. We can also presume the building of the berth at Saltery Bay coincided with the building of the terminal buildings and holding area we know today. I’d pinpoint the exact time frame somewhere between the late 60s and early 70s. My guess is that it was around the same time the Powell River Queen had her saddle lounges removed. Considering they modified the PRQ to accommodate more commercial traffic, I wouldn’t doubt both terminals received improvements for the same reason.

Yes, I do mean the two primary berths at both terminal. Also how does BC Ferries deal with loading on secondary berth at Saltery Bay since it’s not directly a lined with holding compound?

Also how does BC Ferries deal with loading on secondary berth at Saltery Bay since it’s not directly a lined with holding compound? It’s pretty simple. Vehicles simply drive up the exit lane, then make a 180 degree right turn onto the road that leads to the berth.

Not sure if it's been posted on the forum yet but the secondary birth at Earl's Cove terminal has been completely dismantled.

Wasn't quite sure where to place this one... BC Ferries videos? Ferry terminals? Seems more terminal-ish than ferry video-ish, although there are scenes of the Malaspina Sky loading and unloading.
Steve Wallis is a you tuber who does 'stealth camping' videos, and regular camping videos. He shares personal stuff as well, as in losing his wife last year. Seems like a really nice guy, and he makes fun videos.
Here, he's spending the night at the Earls Cove terminal. Just because.

I really respect someone who shares their humanity the way Steve does. Seeing so many of his videos, I was taken aback when he posted a few months ago about the sudden death of his wife. I can't imagine the strength it takes to get back to making fun camping videos after something like that, but I guess that 'crazy neighbor' helped him out. Blew my mind when he said he had some abusive feedback... what motivates some people, anyway? My 'step two' these days is wine. Steve would probably be okay with that, and I really like that when he's camped at something like a ferry terminal, he makes clear that it's not okay to engage in stimulants in that situation. His videos are always fun, not hard core camping, and what's not to like about a guy that tries spending the night behind that big 'Nanaimo the harbour city' sign along Highway 19? So cheeky.
