Good thing the Norad is berthed stern in so you can catch her sort of good side there. Would be nice to get down to Deas for a few pics right now.

my brother and I have been tromping this overland walk thru r.r. row and a little bit of trespassing for years, we started doing this unofficial hike back in my early tsawwassen working years, and have returned many times and have shot the ferries in all three liveries over the years.mrdot.

Thank you DOT. I've been scrutinizing that area now for awhile on multiple different maps, and I thought that that overland route across the tracks and down a bit was probably the way. Thanks

Here are some old seats from on-board one or more minor vessels. Can we identify which ferry they came from? (Photos taken Nov. 7, 2010) These ones look REALLY old. Where would they have been from? An old berth 3 sign. From which terminal? I don't know. I guess it could either be from Deas, or maybe TSA, SWZB, DPB, or HSB.

They kind of look like the white plastic bench seats Cumberland and Capilano have. Or, I should say, the kind Cumberland used to have. She's getting "Coastalized" right now, correct?

They're not from Cumby. She still had hers on her vehicle deck on the 6th, and this was taken on the seventh. Also, these are likely from a ship that was reno'd at Deas, not at Esquimalt.
Footnote: Why are some of the seats brown?

I passed Deas today, and I saw New West docked there. She's looking all spiffy.

These seats came from the mv Quinsam. View this video to see them aboard the ship. www.youtube.com/user/Novabus9228#p/u/305/gRdU4IZYJfsThe Quinsam had her lounges refitted over the 2009-2010 winter season, Finally!. However the benches with the red bars I do not recall and may have possibly came off the mv Quinitsa?

Are you sure those seats came from the Quinsam? I recall seeing those seats sitting around Deas before 2009.
The last time I was at Deas I found out that a lot of the stuff they had has been removed. The old engines out of the New West, the hoards of chairs and tables from the C's as well as a good bunch of the life raft cranes are gone. There were a few prop shafts there as well as a bunch of other random metal parts. I recall there used to be a random mast that we couldn't figure out where it came from, it is now gone as well.
Now there are a bunch of parts from the New West that were removed in her MLU. Life rafts, davits, random metal parts and a bunch of seats and tables. Theres also a bunch of parts from berth 4 at TSA as well as one of the old stern ramps from the NorAd. Its definitely a neat pile of old ferry junk.
Cheers,

I have never sailed on the mv Quinitsa personally, So I do not know what her interior seating lounges were like before she had a major refitt several years ago. But I do know as you can cleary see on my video that the Quinsam had this type of seats. The Quinsam has New Seats now. The Quinsam had her lounges refitted at Deas Dock in the Winter of 2009-2010 and I am sure some of these seats came from the Quinsam.
Because the Quinitsa is basicaly a smaller version of the Quinsam I can only assume that some came from her. Its been several years now since the Quinitsa's Refitt and it is quite reasonable to assume that those seats came from both vessles.

The Queen of Burnaby is at Deas, side by side with the Queen of New Westminster. Primetime to get a photo of the two together.

I did notice the Queen of Prince Rupert has been moved to berth 2.

Today I stopped by Deas to check it out. As already posted, the Queen of the is laid up, as it has been for awhile, as well as the Oaky, Mayne Queen, Chilli, and of course the QPR (not pictured here) This truck was driving off with either a RAD or a prop with shaft attached. I couldn't tell exactly. Do we know which ship it may have come from? They've also changed the sign at the entrance of the facility:

Is the Nor Ex still in North Vancouver?? Looking at this webcam, she's gone from the yard. www1.vancouver.com/images/full.jpgJust checked Marinetraffic.com using a vessel search. Her last position was at the BCF Deas Vessel Maintenance Centre: Position Recorded on: 3/12/2011 6:38:23 PM (UTC) Lat/Lon: 49.12117 / -123.082 Speed/Course: 0.1 kn / 167° Vessel's track shown for that day.
