It looks like the Celebration and the SBC are having some difficulties as both vessels are way off schedule for route 1.
The CC is now 80 minutes behind schedule, falling further behind since this notice at 1300h today.
Please be advised that the Coastal Celebration is currently operating 62 minutes behind schedule due to earlier mechanical difficulties.

There is no notice for the SBC but it is currently 50 to 60 minutes behind schedule.
Due to the delays, the NW did not do its final round trip of the day.
Please be advised that the Queen of New Westminster has had to cancel the following sailings due to an operational issue:
4:00 pm departing Tsawwassen 6:00 pm departing Swartz Bay

Im almost certain the Queen of Surrey is on the rare alternate route three on the east side of Bowen. Right now.
Or the Oak Bay doing drills? Some second generation C was headed due South by Bowen at service speed.

I've looked through the course tracks on MarineTraffic and there's no recorded off-course movements for any of the HSB-LANG, HSB-DPB or TSA-DP ships.
Are you sure you didn't see the Cowichan on its 10:05 departure from HSB?

I'm intrigued by this. At 10am PDT / 5pm UTC, MarineTraffic's plots show: Oak Bay transiting Queen Charlotte Channel northbound. Cowichan in dock at HSB and entering QCC southbound at around 10:13am. Surrey heading west off the northern tip of Bowen. Coquitlam in dock at Langdale. Alberni has been on schedule all day and couldn't have been up here. If you saw a C class heading north through Queen Charlotte Channel at 10am then that was the Oak Bay. If you saw a C class heading south--meaning that there were three Cs in QCC at once--then either MarineTraffic is very wrong or you saw the Queen of Richmond.

I have a feeling the Queen of Oak Bay did a drill. When we passed her she was at an almost dead stand still, and had been for a few minutes I think?

The 10:45pm out of Duke Point is getting up there pretty soon you wont be able to get a ferry from Nanaimo tonight unless they add an extra. Why is tonight so busy? Even Swartz Bay there is 2 sailing wait.

Scheduled sailing at 2140 is 85% also full now showing 24% full. Load factors shown on terminal conditions are not stable. Route #30 eastbound full at 2210. No strandees at Langdale tonight, but Nanaimo's hotels will be enjoying some extra business. Route #1 ended service day with no extra sailings. The Oak Bay was also delayed for the same reasons as the other vessels on route 2, but, no service notice was released.
From Depature Bay
The Oak Bay on its last trip left 78 minutes behind schedule at 2248h.
The Rennaissance left at 2050h (80 minutes behind) and left HSB on its final trip at 2304h (94 minutes late).
The Cowichan left at 2156h and then from HSB at 2354h for its final trip (50 minutes behind).
Routes 1 and 30 were on schedule for most of the day.

I dropped a friend off at Depature Bay and it was crazy outside the terminal. The traffic on Stewart Avenue was backed up to Townsite Road!

Yesterday a fellow forum member and I were discussing the implications of an "operational delay" - well, this morning, the first round trip of the day for the Klitsa has been canceled due to just that.

The Skeena Queen finally gets her #2 RAD re-installed. It was removed back at the very end of April to be dismantled and put back together as part of a rebuild project. I'd suggest keeping your vehicle away from Route 4 on September 4th, since trafiic will be heavy all day, especially with late vacationers going home. www.bcferries.com/bcfservicenotice?id=715268
