Currently I'm putting a package together of photos of ships that have sailed on the Vesuvius - Crofton Ferry Route over the years as far back anyone can recall. Also looking for info or stats of the retired vessels, and also any photos of any of the retired vessels after they were retired, or at least info on where they went after they were retired. It would also be nice to find some sort of advertisement of fares from some point in time - the older the better. Hopefully, with permission, this information will be on display in the passenger lounge of the Howe Sound Queen, the vessel that plys this route today. Here's what I know so far Vessels that ran full time on this route: 1955-1966 George S. Pearson 1966-1992 Vesuvius Queen (relief vessel until 1997) 1992-Current Howe Sound Queen Vessels that have seen service on this route at some point Salt Spring Queen Kahloke (II) Bowen Queen (II) Cy Peck? Any help with information and photos would be greatly appreciated. Photos that end up on display will rightfully be given credit. Images could begin appearing on display in as early as a week. Calling on members such as EGFleet, Neil, etc

Wish I could be of more assistance, but I'm afraid I really don't have too much on these boats other than what everyone else has, as in the Dogwood Fleet and Favelle booklet, and Bannerman. Anyway, here's a summer '67 schedule- note the $1.75 one way fare to Salt Spring for car and driver. I don't know the year of the Dolphin article. Good luck with putting your display together, Chris. Nice to have the history of that route commemorated. (Mr Horn: You need to get your dessert references up to date. BC Ferries changed from raspberry to strawberry with their chocolate cake about three years ago. And you call yourself a ferry fan. Shame.)

Thanks for posting that, Neil. Much appreciated, any little bit helps.
It's definitely neat to see the $3.00 round trip fare to go to Salt Spring from Vancouver Island. 45 years later, the fare is now about $43.00 round trip.
