I came to visit Victoria from Vancouver in 1986 on a ferry that arrived straight into the Inner Harbour...I remember being on the ferry and coming down the side of Victoria along Cordova Bay, the Victoria Golf Club etc...and then arriving and seeing the Empress.. any idea which one it was and why it was discontinued? not feasible? Looking forward to an answer as my friends keep saying that I was mistaken... So am hoping someone knows...

In 1991 92, I traveled from Vancouver to Victoria on what was called the Royal Sealink Express. They had two vessels - identical flying cats - named the Royal Vancouver & Royal Victoria. They ran from Vancouver's Seabus Terminal into Victoria's inner harbour, very close to the Empress Hotel. More info can be seen below. If your trip was in 1986 then it may not have been this particular service.

Royal Sealink Express started in '92- I was just looking at a wall poster I have on their service. The ferry referred to by the new member, back in '86, was Island Jetfoil. They served Seattle-Victoria-Vancouver. One trip left Seattle at noon, arrived in Victoria at 2 and left for Vancouver at 2:30, arriving at 4:30. I've posted that folder somewhere on this forum, a couple of years back. I'll try to locate it.
