Despite the poor weather over the long weekend, there is three hour+ wait today eastbound from both Nanaimo (2 & 30) and Langdale.
Langdale eastbound wait peaked at 5 hours.

I arrived at Langdale terminal at 1235 for the 1445 sailing. Had I been 15 minutes later I indeed would've been waiting for the 16:50 sailing.
Having the Coquitlam's extra sailing so early in the day makes for a very busy afternoon.

The ticket agent at Buckley Bay today confirmed that the Kahloke is being overloaded at times every day on the Denman run, despite being in shuttle mode, and doing a round trip every 35 minutes or so when needed. I arrived at 3:30 for the scheduled 4:00 sailing to Denman, and a departure at 3:50 or so left about 25 cars behind, or almost a full load.
Most of the traffic this time of year is going to Denman, so while the Kahloke may be shuttling, Tenaka isn't. That means you can miss a departure to Denman, and have a fair wait at Gravelly Bay if you happen to get there at say ten to the hour. I got back to my place just before six, after arriving at Buckley Bay at 3:30, which is a fairly long journey taking into account two ten minute ferry rides, and the time of year.
Nothing scandalous, and I realize Kahloke is the only replacement available while Quinitsa is in refit, but islanders will be happy to have the usual boats back whenever Quinitsa's refit is completed.

at 5pm today I saw route 2 had a 2 sailing wait out of Horseshoe Bay. I was heading to Tsawwassen on the Celebration at the time. A combination of holiday traffic and more traffic using route 2 due to the route 30 cutbacks which I think are rediculas there should of been an exception for Dec 22nd as it is the weekend before christmas so I think route 30 should of been running on the full schedule seeing the ships were leaving over 50% full today. I even saw a few people at Tsawwassen show up that were going to Nanaimo and were suprised route 30 was done for the day.
