It looks more like a medieval castle than a ferry to me.

A photo of Coastal Renaissance, from a location off of the Old Sea-to-Sky highway (now Horseshoe Bay drive). Lots of passengers out and about on Deck 7, enjoying the September summer. -I also like the Coastal list-effect, as the ship begins its turn out of Horseshoe Bay.

They've traded berths. ...and the Capilano has morphed into an older version of the Bowen Island ferry. A queen type of ferry to Bowen.

Queen of Coquitlam and Coastal Renaissance feature in this all-day timelapse video, shot from Sugarloaf Mountain, above Departure Bay Nanaimo. - shot over 10.5 hours on January 1, 2015
The start of the video also shows the Island Tug & Barge fuel barge arriving at Departure Bay. Later in the video, it leaves.
Watch the anchored freighter spinning around with the currents, in the faster speeds of the video.

After nearly a year of no ferry trips, I finally had the time to do round trips on Routes 30 and 1 last Sunday...

I've noticed that the Renaissance is currently running Route 30. I've never heard of her running that route before. How often is the Renaissance there?

4:53am view of Coastal Renaissance at Duke Point. It doesn't get much lovelier than this Coastal Renaissance at Duke Point at 5:00am by Mike Bonkowski, on Flickr -------- late comment: - the green navigation light is evidence that when she's berthed at her home port, she's considered to be berthed bow-in.

Karl, here is the answer that you were probably expecting from me: "I don't know, because I spent the entire sailing outside in the same spot on Deck-5." There were maybe 20 foot passengers. I was looking for solitude, and I found it.

Here's a photo of C'Renaissance in her underwear. - we thought we'd be seeing that view soon after 2010, but she's stayed modest longer than we thought. ======================= photo from the fabulous Markus Brinkmann collection, used with his permission Photos are from his Picasa site, here: picasaweb.google.de/markus.brinkmann

Out of curiosity, does anyone know if the Renaissance's lower passenger cabin on Deck 5 will be open when she is on Route 2 at the end of this month?

Out of curiosity, does anyone know if the Renaissance's lower passenger cabin on Deck 5 will be open when she is on Route 2 at the end of this month? She's back on route 2 tomorrow until Christmas, and I would guess that only the TV lounge on deck 5 will be open. But you never know.. as long as they're sailing with an A or B license (I would doubt that they even use the C license on route 2), deck 5 can be open.
