Entering Departure Bay. She was stopped out there somewhere I guess maybe she waited till the Oak Bay was gone before she entered. I wonder if the Coastal Inspiration spent that time out in the strait to turn around so that the 'Brink Breaker' was at the stern for docking. If not, I guess they made the turn around at Brotchie.

BTW, notice in Karl's fourth picture the difference in drafts between two Super C's when one of them has significant deadweight onboard.

Be careful how you compare both vessels. The CI has higher free board at the end with the wave breaker than the other end. Just look at the pictures closely you will notice. CI was ballast so driving propeller to be deeper in water to help it stay in the water during the long travel and to help protect the fore end too.

I have new pictures on 3 new albums at my photobucket site listed below Coastal Inspiration: Coastal Sisters together: Both ships together in the same picture A SIGHT TO BEHOLD! mv Nicola The Coastal Inspiration sailed up to Entrance Island using her False Bow as the front end, she "switched ends" at Entrance Island, I heard the ships pilot inform Victoria Traffic when they did this. By the way do a good comparison between the 2 boats and you will notice that the "vancouver" AND "BRitish Columbia" ads are differnt on the 2 ships. Meaning on the Side that Says "Vancouver" on the Renaissance it Says "British Columbia"on the Inspiration. Take a good look at the "Helicopter Evacuation" thingy on both ships to compare Link below the post

Wow, i really like the image of the two of them side by side...
They seem to be more photogenic as a pair.

So it appears that the CI is now running some MD sailings on route 30 and she is scheduled to go into full service on Monday.
We can now keep an eye on her using this thread.

Why they using a Spirit silhouette ? Sloppy and or careless programming. If you check the locations (routes) under current conditions, they do not correspond to the actual route numbers.

Why they using a Spirit silhouette ? To indicate their belief that all inspiration flows from the spirit.....

Post 1000! ;D Warning - Picture Heavy
I was aboard today's unscheduled morning roundtrip aboard the Coastal Inspiration.First impressions as a passenger - very nice. The Inspiration has an ocean theme compared to the forestry theme of the Renaissance. She laid out exactly the same as the Renaissance, thus everything that is on the Renaissance is on and in the same place as the Inspiration. Upper vehicle deck. A few of the sights as we near Tsawwassen (...where I would later meet up with Dane for the return trip back to Duke Point )... Back at Duke Point. Yet another amazing vessel built for us by Flensburger Schiffbau-Gesellschaft! Thank you, FSG and Markus! ;D More photos located here (first 30)...

I'm confused. The 'Inspiration was listed on route 30 as having left Tsawwassen this morning at 11:55, but there was no arrival noted at Duke Point. Did she actually go to Duke Point, and if so, what did she do until 7:05, when she left for Tsawwassen again, since both the 'Alberni and 'Cowichan would have needed the berth in the meantime?

Great photos Scott! I like the Ocean theme better for some reason. I just wish BCF would put something other then the weather network on. It gets a little repetitive after about 10 minutes.

From Duke Point I was one of two walk-ons. There was about 15 or so vehicles and about 4 or 5 semi-trailors.
From Tsawwassen there was more walk-ons; probably around 15 or 20. There was about 40 vehicles split between the upper and lower decks and about 7 semi-trailors.
Deck 5 was closed...

We left Tsawwassen around 12:00 and got in to Duke Point around 1:50. After we disembarked the ship, the crew then took the Inspiration back to Departure Bay to do a crew change. From there she should have went back to Duke Point to do another unscheduled roundtrip sailing sometime this evening.
