Was / is the CI having work done? I had, I suppose incorrectly, thought she had been on Route 30 the last little bit. Wasn't the CR holding down the Route 1 primary vessel l out of Tsawwassen until yesterday? You are correct that the Renaissance HAS been doing route 1, but as of this morning the ‘BC is back in service. With that I believe it is now mini-refit time for the Inspiration. RBI has the Renaissance covering route 30 for a few weeks before returning to her regular summer role as the number 1 route 2 vessel from DPB. (June 26th as far as I can tell)

The Coastal Inspiration started up her engines about 10 minutes ago....at 4:45 am. She seriously vibrates my whole house and she woke us up again. Hopefully she's leaving soon and not just doing some sort of engine check because that would be really annoying. I don't see her listed as doing any sailings today so maybe she's heading over to Deas? Edit: Yep, there she goes.

The Coastal Inspiration just came into Departure Bay. She has a new decal - Russ Howard is gone! She has a generic mountain hiking scene now.

Is the CR in refit presumably? And where is the QoNW for that matter? Lots of complicated vessels shuffling right now it seems like.
Edit - New West is in Esquimalt, and I knew this!

The Coastal Inspiration came in to Departure Bay overnight and is now tied up at berth 1. She's off the schedule until June 15. There's a barge pulled up to her nose. I suspect it'll be noisy here for a while.

On the 10:45pm sailing to Duke Point, the Inspiration is running as single-ender. She turned around after we left the berth at TSW. Crew think fishing lines or netting have tangled up on one of the propellers. Diver to investigate once she's tied up for the night.

Mike, I am impressed. Furthermore I am thinking about the km's you must be putting on to 'get the shot'. Yesterday you were east of Lytton shooting a CP container train led by one of the refurbished locomotives sporting the new (old) heritage livery. Today your getting this dramatic shot from Stanley Park. What is planned for tomorrow?

It has been six years after her sister have gotten the blue line on sides. Why hasn’t BC Ferries revealed the blue line on Coastal Inspiration? Will BC Ferries always keep her as odd ball in fleet with out her blue line?

Coastal Inspiration usually has her refitt in the Spring, is this the new Normal that she is in refit in December?

Here is my view of one of the navigation bridges on the Coastal Inspiration ferry at Duke Point, at 5:15am on Septmeber 12, 2016. The circle on top is the long-exposure effect of the spinning radar unit. The photograph details are: 5 seconds at ISO-500 and f/2.8 This is the fun part of early morning ferry travel. I was reading an article about the person overboard event, and the following photo caption caught my eye. I'm humoured when reporters make what they probably feel are confident remarks, but didn't quite fact check enough. I'm sure most of you can spot the item that is highly unlikely. . .

....But it has done at least one round trip from Departure Bay to Horseshoe Bay in its life way back when new. This is fact. You never know when BC Ferries will do a ship change, no matter how unlikely it may seem. But in this case yes they did made a mistake.
