Whats that thing behind her bridge I believe it an elevator shaft. That is correct...that elevator was added in 1996 during her Queen of Saanich-like interior upgrade.

That photo would be from 1976 or 77; ~35 years ago. The view appears to be from the BC Rail right-of-way. Your grand father took a lot of fine photos of our ferries back in the day ...

I remember when the C- class ships were new ; they seemed so huge and modern to my 7 year old eyes. And, they had escalators (which, I've noticed on a recent trip on the Cowichan, are gone now)! Wow!

The Cowichan has returned to Departure Bay and is currently tied-up in Berth 3.

Do you know if the Coquitlam will be making her way to Langdale tomorrow? Or will she stay in Departure Bay?

The Cowichan resumes service on Route 2 tomorrow. The Coquitlam will be tied up in Departure Bay until she does #2 boat service for the holidays.
