How come the Coquitlam is running as the number 1 boat on Langdale today??? Looks like the Surrey is doing the extra sailings according to the current conditions.

The Coquitlam took over as #1 vessel yesterday afternoon, but I have no idea why.

The Coquitlam took over as #1 vessel yesterday afternoon, but I have no idea why. The Surrey had a mechanical issue, not sure what it was. Everything was back to normal last night, despite the 'Coquitlam being 80 minutes late. The Surrey ended up doing the last roundtrip to salvage the schedule, but it was a long day for catering crew, who had been aboard well before sailing time. I'm guessing they went to a C license- reducing the crew from 29 to 23 to cut down on the amount of overtime being paid out.

The Queen of Coquitlam is apparently not just a large metal inanimate hulk. It has a brain and can make decisions as to whether or not it sails; or at least that's what the Service Notice wording seems to indicate. Now I know why we refer to ships as 'she', rather than 'it'.

A timelapse video taken from the Queen of Coquitlam as she departed Departure Bay's Berth 1, spun around 180 degrees, and then likely repositioned over the Langdale

The 1976 twins, along with the 'Cowichan's rescue boat, at Departure Bay - evening of April 12, 2014 Cowichan leaving, Coquitlam staying --------------- Coquitlam looking nice in the evening - the best lighting of the day. Even though Coquitlam was idle for the day (make that the week), she was still all lit-up inside. I'm not sure why.
