Queen of Coquitlam a couple months after re-entering service again from refit. Queen of Coquitlam is replacing the Queen of Oak Bay on the Horseshoe Bay to Departure Bay route while Queen of Oak Bay is in the refit. I am posting because she has recently been painted. How long is Queen of Coquitlam replacing the Queen of Cowichan? Today is the last day, while the Cowichan gets some pre-summer TLC. The Oak Bay and Surrey will also get similar 4 day pre-summer TLC over the next several weeks leading up to summer

Queen of Coquitlam leaving Langdale on Friday of the long weekend. Not how many Canon R series shoots there are in the forum, but the 70-200 F4 L certainly treated me nicely that weekend!

The Coquitlam seems to have been the #1 vessel on Route 3 for a couple days. Anyone know why?

There was a service notice Thursday night that said there was a “mechanical problem with the air compressor.” Although there was a mechanical issue a few days back...which actually involved the Surrey crew shutting down the Surrey, who then jumped on to the Coquitlam to get it up and running just to finish the last round trip of the day on route 3. Not something you see very often. But for the past few days, the Surrey has been having some work done. The scope of the work doesn't impede the operation of the ship, but they're taking advantage of the added downtime of the #2 boat schedule to get the work done while it's tied up

I think Queen of Coquitlam may have her refit delayed until after Thanksgiving to run extra sailings on the Departure Bay to Horseshoe Bay run this fall. I don't see any other options available assuming Coastal Renaissance is not repaired in time. Bcf needs the Coquitlam to provide extra sailings on both the Nanaimo and Langdale runs.

According to Global news at 12 it sounds like all extra sailings between Departure Bay and Horseshoe Bay and Langdale are scrubed due to ship availability for the fall. It was mentioned that refit season is beginning and they can not get another ship to fill in. So it appears the Coquitlam may in fact go into refit right after Labour day as per normal. The schedules on the BC Ferries website haven’t been changed yet. Between Sept. 5 and October 9, the Queen of Alberni will continue to sail in place of the Coastal Renaissance on the Tsawwassen-Duke Point route. These sailings are contractually required sailings under the Coastal Ferry Services Contract. As a result, the Horseshoe Bay – Departure Bay and the Horseshoe Bay – Langdale routes will experience some sailing cancellations.

Would they add The Coquitlam to be the 3rd ship on Route 30 as long as is necessary?

After Labour day all extra sailings on rt 2 and Langdale are canceled. This is STRONGLY suggesting that the Coquitlam will NOT be in service because it is the only ship that would have served these sailings due to the Renaissance breakdown. This puzzles me because if memory is correct during the Spirit class mid life refit Coquitlam's refit was delayed until after Thanksgiving.
Perhaps BCF has drydock dates reserved for the Coquitlam?

Perhaps BCF has drydock dates reserved for the Coquitlam? I think she went into dry dock in 2022, so no need to dry dock this year. I think it might due Transport Canada certification are due up. When did the Queen of Coquitlam get her elevator installed?

When did the Queen of Coquitlam get her elevator installed? Her mid-ship elevator? That was installed in 1976...the year she was built. The elevator at No 1 end that also serves the sundeck was installed during her mid-life upgrade in 2003. However her sister, the Cowichan, received her 2nd elevator a few years earlier than that..in 1996 when she had her interior "prettied up" a bit.
