Unfortunately it looks like Lady Rose Marine Services won't be putting the ex-Tenaka into service after all.

Between the Tenaka and the Evergreen State, you could start your own fleet!

I kinda disappointed that Lady Rose could not get MV Alberni Legacy back into service. I wonder if vehicles portion of plan failed or the conversion was difficult for her to fully freight and passengers vessel.

Very disappointing... but surely, no one's surprised. I suspect that this virus was the final blow to the company's plans to expand their service. Amusing to read the claim for a 35 car capacity.

A few years ago the fish shop next door said that ferry was dead. If you look at back posts, she was dead long ago. Selling now, good luck. She is a recycle.

(suggestion: might this thread be better placed in the 'ex BC Ferries ships' section? That's where I looked first.) I think this thread was originally moved here with the intent that it would be used as, well, a ferry, but that seems less likely now, so it’ll be moved. Thanks for the flag.

Worst "predict the future" moderating decision on my forum resume. I was caught-up in Tenakamania. It was a hopeful, but naive time.

I was doubtful, but given the legitimacy of the buyers (LRMS), I was somewhat optimistic. Wouldn't call you naive, Mike. Who knows... maybe this was another of so many entrepreneurial coffins that Covid has pounded the final nail into.

Any news if the buyer kept her in Port Alberni?

Any news if the buyer kept her in Port Alberni? I haven't heard that she was recently sold. But I was in Port Alberni at the end of November and she was still at her tie-up spot near the Frances Barkley.

Here is an Alberni news story on the sale of the Tenaka: Quote here: Full story HEREThanks for that, Mike. Very sorry to see her go, but I guess I'm happy that LRMS at least found a buyer for a vessel they couldn't in the end work out a role for. Thanks again, Covid, for another unhappy ending to a business venture. Lots of those stories these days. The story seems to indicate she's going to leave Port Alberni on her own power. I wonder if she's been fired up at all during the time she's been there.

Maybe I haven't looked enough but on Marine Traffic says position received one minute ago tied up. I have looked before and haven't seen it on Marine Traffic wonder what's up with that.

It was reported a few posts above, back in March, that the ex-Tenaka had been sold and was destined for Alaska. Then, in the latest edition of Western Mariner, I saw a Pacific Boat Brokers ad featuring her in a 'new' listing. Now the Pacific website shows her as sold. So whether the first sale fell through or those owners sold her again, who knows.

There's not a lot of hard detail in this news story, but Tenaka was recently towed from Port Alberni to Ucluelet harbour. Hopefully she doesn't end up being a derelict problem at Ucluelet. News story with photo is H E R E

Tenaka in her new Ukee harbour home makes a couple appearances in a recent "van-life" video. Full disclosure, I don't live in a van, but I love watching this man's YouTube videos. 2 appearances: - 7:56 mark - 10:20 mark

On a recent trip up to Ucluelet, I spotted a boat that I thought was the North Island Princess at first glance. However, I'm fairly certain is was not. Did the original Island Princess have a sister ship in BC? Does any know if this boat was an ex-BC Ferry? Thanks
