Just for acknowledgements sake, I was aboard the Mayne Queen today. She just came back from refit. The seats everybody hates are still very much in place, which sort of surprised me. I thought for sure they were going to be replaced with what the Bowen Queen has in the saddle lounges, which are the lounge chairs you have on the major vessels, but without the armrests, so one could stretch out and lie down if they wish. With the deficit BCF is running, I'm not at all surprised the chairs are still there, especially considering that BCF is going to be rebranding again soon. Spending extra money twice just isn't smart, financially. There's a point when pleasing the public and pleasing the coffers has to find a balance... I guess this is that balance.

Mayne Queen stopped up off Crane Point, Mayne Island as seen from the cardeck of the Queen of Nanaimo. Sunday nights have the Cumberland and Mayne mustering up traffic from the other Islands and dumping them off at Mayne Island for them to transfer on to the Queen of Nanaimo for a direct sailing to Tsawwassen. The Cumberland was in Berth 1 at Village Bay discharing her traffic, and the Mayne was waiting her turn.

But, if people complain about the Mayne Queen probilty BC ferries would put the lounge chairs in the saddle lounges. Or perhaps BC ferries didn't have much time to put the lounge chair on the Mayne Queen. Maybe, BC ferries would put the lounge chairs in Saddle lounges during the next refit for the Mayne Queen. Maybe, this winter BC Ferries would put lounge chairs on the Mayne Queen.

It really isent fun being on the Mayne Queen for like almost three hours I wish BC Ferries dident swap the ships for the summer schedule. Three hours on the Mayne Queen from Swartz Bay to Sturdies Bay via Long Harbour and Mayne is a bit rediculas but of course it is the only one on Sundays and Holiday Mondays you can take to Galiano in the mornings besides the early 6am ferry for a day trip which I want to do. The gulf island schedules really suck! And for the price you pay they should have better schedules!

Not much, other than a bunch of misspelled things and a name of a video game. I still think the word is mainly used as a red-haired man's nickname, somewhere in Scandinavia.

In Transylvania, people are sometimes attacked by packs of red haired vampires, called rediculas. What I want to know is if Karl actually believes that BC Ferries should design their Gulf Islands schedules to accommodate people who are just sailing back and forth on excursions.

I am not saying back and forth. Alot of people do day trips. I am just saying the schedules suck you either have not enough time or too much time on the islands but the price to get there I would rather stay longer than only be able to go for like 4 hours or so. It is the same with the San Jaun Islands the schedules suck over there too.

The ships you can use in your schedule are the Queens of Nanaimo and Cumberland, and the Bowen, Mayne, and Skeena Queens. You can make route 1A an option in your schedule too, if you'd like. You can mess around with current routes, stops, and ports, too. I just want to see what you would prefer in lieu of our current system, because honestly, I don't think there's much wrong with it. In other countries, islands with populations as low as our Gulf Islands would only see one, maybe two trips per day reaching them.

Have we found the elusive Mr. Cheese? ;D Really? No, not really at all. I was just mentioning that out of total sarcasm... I honestly thought what I was looking at was a ferry and a container of parmesan.

A few clips of the Mayne Queen ferry, seen at Swartz Bay - November 10, 2012.
Videos shot from the great new grassy-space between berths 4 & 5 at Swartz.
