26 Dec 10 Having been deeply concerned about the lack of photos of her box, I present.... I really enjoy the PRQ - hadn't paid a lot of attention to the photos on the previous page of her next to the I Sky. Nice to see the actual size comparison. These vessels remind me of Star Trek, the I Sky being from the new movies where the alternate timeline Enterpise looks really kick butt and modern while the PRQ looks sort of wimpy, like the first Enterprise from the original series.

Powell River Queen - 15 July 1978 She is seen here serving on the route she was built for, Jervis Inlet. This is after modifications done to increase her car deck clearance to full height in all lanes. This involved removing the 'saddle lounges' on both sides. Originally the PRQ was identical to her sisters Mayne Queen & Bowen Queen. © WCK-JST - Kitschrome - 78-1535 - Hosted on my Flickr site

Is the Powell River Queen ever going to receive a coastalized interior? She seems to be on of the last ones with the dogwood inside.

PRQ as seen from a few locations south of the Campbell River terminal. - photos from June 17, 2011. -------------- - fishing pier in the foreground, unused cruise-ship terminal in the background. - lightened-up, so that you can see the area near the water-line. ===============

From June 2011, the ferry PRQ with a larger ship (yup, that's the Zuiderdam). - the Powell River Queen regularly encounters some large marine traffic. --------- late edit to identify the dam cruise ship

So Mr. Horn... What's the big idea of posting a photo like that and not identifying the ship from HAL which is obstructing the channel? Even at 1024 pixel's wide the ship's name inscribed at the stern is still too small to be legible.

Hi, I just got off the Powell River Queen about 20 minutes ago at Campbell River (I am Currently at the Public Library) and the ship is now "Coastalized". It Now has the same Seats, and Carpet as does the Bowen Queen, Queen of Cumberland etc. I took pictures and videos, but won't be able to upload them until I get home in a few weeks. The removable Lounge on the car deck remains the same.

I'm glad they chose the larger, more comfortable chairs, rather than the 'cheese-graters'...

Thank you for the photos and insight! I watched your video on YouTube and it looks like the vending machine area is the former snack bar.
I am glad they chose the large seats than the transit-bus cheese-graters, unlike one certain Mayne Queen...
