Queen of Capilano headed for Snug Cove. See from around the corner from Snug Cove, at the beach near the causeway at Deep Bay on Bowen: - that boat in the foreground has some serious shrubbery growing in it. crazy....

Ahh, the 'Capilano sailing on the briny liquid that is Howe Sound, full of natural scenery. Enjoying that scene is a gas.

The Queen of Capilano bound for Horseshoe Bay. The ' Capilano bound for Snug Cove later in the day, with the Queen of Surrey heading back to Langdale in the background.

I spent part of my day today on Bowen Island; the first time I have ever been there. I also got my first trip aboard the ferry that normally runs to that island, the Queen of Capilano. Here she is departing Snug Cove, Bowen Island, en route to Horseshoe Bay - 24 March 2012 photo © JST by Wett Coast, on Flickr[/size]

Did, you visit the street-corner of Venture and Cardena ? No, I was keeping my eyes 'on the lookout' for signs of Union Steamships history, but primarily, we were hiking. We did a short hike to the south of Snug Cove, to a place called Dorman Point. It has some limited views out over the water to the south & east. Trees get in the way, similar to the Bluffs Park on Galliano. Views of ferries are much more distant. We also did a longer hike around Killarney Lake; nice but no ferry views. I was with my wife. We had a good lunch in the village, & the weather was sunny & warm, very welcome. At some point I will go back & do the long hike up Mt Gardiner, which is reported to have excellent views in all directions.

I was listing to that interview and that’s not what he said at all. He said they had to postpone the retrofit because of the extensive down time the ship would require. He said they are ready to go with the project but determined that they could not be without the Capilano for that period of time.
