This old ferry was tied up along River Rd in Delta for years, until it sank and was broken up on site. This picture was taken around March 1983 and it sank in April 1985. Would anyone know what it was called or any history about it? It looks alot like Ferry #3 or #4 from North Vancouver, but it's not one of them. These ferries were built early 1911 or later. It was tied up along River Rd near Tilbury Island for at less ten years or more. Any help would be appreciated. Attachments:

Welcome to the West Coast Ferries Forum, 123dave456. The vessel photographed is the Bainbridge. More information and photos of this vessel can be found at the above link.

:)that pic. of Bainbridge moored as a hulk off Delta's River Rd., in the late 1980's was taken only months before she rolled over on the mud bank, I took several pics, over this period in my delta planning years! it was just down river from Vito's then very active shipyard, when we used to build them here rather than the falcon libs. fatherland. :)mrdot.

A lot of us seem to have pictures of the poor old Bainbridge/Jervis Queen at that location; she was unfortunate enough to be tied up alongside a very busy through route, so her decline was well witnessed. No dignity for an old lady in this case.

Thanks for your help, I had this picture hanging on my wall for over twenty years and didn't know what it was. Always wondered what ship it was. Thanks.

Can anyone contact Capt Rob Rennie? I have his former vessel Dogwood Princess 11 for sale. Dude, that's cool! Ever since I did scour this entire forum to try and catch myself up on just about every boat (past and most of the present) and their fates, I had a couple on a list of "what happened, where'd they go?" And it seems you'd be able to help! There is a sub for this vessel, and I really would love to see what the little passenger ferry looks like today! We hardly have any photos, let alone modern ones of her.
