This is my "5K Post" on this forum.
This post of mine is made in honour of the following 5 ships, none of which I've ever been on: - Klitsa - Kwuna - Kahloke - Kulleet - Klatawa
(Kuper is too new to the fleet for inclusion in my 5K list, but it will be part of the 6K list, whenever that will be).

Drum roll please.........
On this day, during the nineteenth hour of the fourteenth day of July, in the year of our Lord two thousand and nine; a mere two years, one month, twenty-two days, twenty hours and two minutes after originally registering in this forum -- BryanK is proud to announce the completion of his five-hundredth post within the hallowed confines of this forum.
Tah dah!
Actually, I figured that If I didn't make a silly announcement like this, I would go through the next month wondering whether the next thing I posted would be worthy of the honour of being my 500th post, or if I should just wait for something more important.
After all, the wonderful and important 500th post shouldn't consist of "I want to do that, too" or "That's great" or "me too" or something like that. No, it couldn't have been a random comment of any kind. Nor could it have been the fit of pent-up-and-ready-to-be-unleashed sarcasm that I have been feeling coming on for the last week or so. No, it had to be used on a worthy subject.
Or some rambling thing like this.
No, I just had to get the 500th post out of the way so I could get on to bigger and better things. And so it was, and so mote it be. So there.
Thank you for your time.

Happy 5-year member anniversary to Jordan, for the month of October 09.
He's showing his original name, "Q Sandwich" for anniversary purposes, I presume.
Jordan: Thanks for all the work you've done for the forum over the years. Whenever we view the forum pages, your work & legacy are always "right before our eyes".

It's time to add the Kuper to my 6K list: 1- Klitsa 2- Kwuna 3- Kahloke 4- Kulleet 5- Klatawa 6- Kuper ....I'll probably have to revert Quinitsa to the old "Kwinitsa" spelling, when I hit 7K.

Congrats on Reaching the 6000 Mark, Mr. Horn! Its only taken you a little over 8 months to go from 5000 to 6000 and in that time you have passed both Myself and Karl. It appears the forum's reigning "King of Sarcasm" has to add "and Posts" to his title.
I only have 596 more posts to go until I'm at 6000. Though by that time, you'll probably be past 7000. Cheers Flugel!

Some of us forum members are continuing a tradition of changing our displayed user-names for the Halloween weekend.
Don't be scared or frightened! ;D
As for me, since Halloween falls on the same day as an important date in Christian church history, I'm doing an alternate take on our forum tradition and instead I'm using my changed-name to honour that moment in history. Just in case you were wondering....

Just in case you were wondering.... Didn't know Flugel Horn was Lutheran. Perfectly okay from this Anglican.. Just so he doesn't get too involved with The Movementarians. Then we should be all worried. ooops, I didn't intend to imply that I was a Lutheran (although I have some of that in my heritage). My intention was to mention that I'm honouring an interesting figure in history (Mr. Luther) who was a rebel of his time and who's written-work is still fresh & cutting-edge for some people (including me) today. [if you want me to go further, I'd say that the benefit of Luther's Oct.31, 1517 work was soon undone by the nationalizing of his reformation movement] As most of you know, I'm now a practicing adherent of Coastal-Orthodoxy. ;D

Flugel Luther I find this wonderfully perfect.
I am just finishing up my sermon for tomorrow morning tying All Saints day and Reformation day today together.

Shouldn't that be.. with being with the rest of us in believing in and respecting the ways of The Great Spirit of the Rainforest. Remember, the magical mists of the Central Coast on a cold crisp morning, the whispers of the wind, and the presence of the Great Spirit Bear on the islands , and the Great White Steel Whale of northern expeditions are all hallmarks of the gifts of the Great Spirit. PK's clearly been inspired by his buddy Gord's new desk... www.theglobeandmail.com/news/national/british-columbia/gordon-campbells-desk-a-thing-of-beauty/article1342927/

I was too busy with with over 150 ankle biters at the door to find time to change my forum name.
BTW since Flug you are practicing Coastal Orthodoxy, does that mean you have found your frock or are you still defrocked? And does the ceremony transfer to the knots from the buns?

BTW since Flug you are practicing Coastal Orthodoxy, does that mean you have found your frock or are you still defrocked? And does the ceremony transfer to the knots from the buns? Are you asking if my frock is in a knot? I have decided to ignore the licensing authority that governs Coastal-Orthodoxy and to simply do my work regardless of the state of my frock. I believe that the cinnamon knots are legitimate emblems to use in the expressions of Coastal-Orthodoxy.

I'm praying for more money on the collection plate, finances have kept me on this side of the border since July. There are other things keeping you on that side of the border, too... No I'm not. I've made references to the Great Spirit of the Rainforest well before the desk arrived, but such references go well beyond here.. and keep in mind, it's not Gordon's. It belongs to the People of B.C. Gordon is just using it while he is Premier. Let's just hope he doesn't scratch it or gets pen marks on the finish.. Thanks for the entertaining but wrong supposition. Interesting to mention the Reformation. I notice we still might be working some left over issues from the reformation out today. Very curious how as soon as Flugel mentioned Coastal Orthodoxy, someone immediately jumped in waving the flag of the The Great Spirit of the Rainforest. I think it's a bit of a stretch to think we all endorse the Rainforest because people living in Lillooet, Kamloops or Kelowna might ask you exactly what a rainforest is. Remember that the popular religion of the state does not always reflect the majority of the beliefs of the population. Coastal Orthodoxy is also just too regionalized to rationalize adherence by more than a chosen few as well. However, if we were all to follow the tenets of The Great Spirit of the Rainforest, we are certainly set with a perfect televangelist to move and sway us. He could even afford the diamonds, Rolexes and feather boas to suit his flamboyant lifestyle. He clearly already has the desk for it... Gordon must have been mistaking BC for Hollywood for the terms he has been in office. Cause it seems like all he wants is to be a celebrity and get his picture in the paper. Or maybe he's a failed celebrity who couldn't hack it in Hollywood, so he's two-timing with BC instead. Can't wait til he builds a glass pyramid over the legislature.

Today is the my one year anniversary of joining this forum. In it, I've gotten banned at least twice, gotten a warning on my profile badge god knows how many times, and I'll bet I have some people who just wish I'd leave. Well I'm dedicating my 1 year post to everybody knowing that "No, I'm not leaving. I've barely gotten started." I'm gonna try hard as heck not to get banned from here again, and just as hard not to get a warning badge on my profile, but once again, just in case anybody 'skipped a line' up there, I'm not leaving. My One thousandth post will be occuring sometime in the next few weeks too, so I'll be back to mention it then. (this is my 967th post, just for the record) This is a great forum!

I don't know if anyone noticed, but the Most Users Online is now at 196. It changed Friday Night (Feb 15th) at 10:22. The last time this changed was July 1st, 2007. I believe the old number was 163. Looks like we've had a spike in guests the last few days, even as I type this we have over 100 Guests and Users Online.

Here's a good place to post my "ferry slam" video
A possible asterisk for my addition to the club: - I've never been on the Nicola. She's technically owned by BCFerries, but not operated by BCFerries.
Am I a fraud?
