The several requests on the ProBoards support forum of undoing the update have been denied, so I doubt it. I really do not mind it. It could use some improvement like spell check, preview posts, take away the global account log in. I personally find this update better because of the visual and the activities. Want spell check? 1.) chrome.google.com2.) Click download 3.) Follow install prompts. 4.) Enjoy your newfound built-in spell check!

No they have no spell check on their computers excluding pages. But, on there mobile devices and the iPad they have automatic spell check. Which is awesome.

I am on a Mac and have right button on my mouse, and I also have spell check on fire fox. Oh. I have a 2012 model ( upgrade to highest update so far) and 2007 model which both do not have right button on the mouse, all least I have not tried yet. I use Safari.

My mouse is not the standard one that came with our computer it was one I bought after the fact. I would try using FireFox. It has spell check that you can use, and it works on my Mac and my HP laptop.

Here I am on my work computer, and all of a sudden I finally get the gear-wheel pull-down box, the edit-row of icons, and the other filtered-out things that I was whining about.
---------------
....and 5 minutes later it's gone again. Ah, the joys of network filters.

Maybe it is time to rename this thread to something like "Major WCFF 'Upgrade'? - Discussion re PB V5"

Why does the forum's recent threads link [http://ferriesbc.proboards.com/threads/recent] only work when I'm logged out? Is anyone else having this issue? When i'm logged in, it directs me to some events on the forum calendar.
I DO like to read the discussion that followed up to the 'recent posts', so I avoid using the new recent posts button, unless I'm on my mobile phone.

When i'm logged in, it directs me to some events on the forum calendar. It doesn't appear to be functioning for me when logged-in either. This is likely due to a ProBoards issue and it should hopefully be resolved in the coming weeks.

Try going to the Second Page of the Recent Threads Page if you want the actual Recent Threads. It took me a few days after the Upgrade to figure this out.
Hopefully this bug gets fixed soon. Of course I assume when it is fixed I'm going to end up flipping to the second page the first few times.

Is there a way to make it to where links in posts open up in new windows or tabs? I cannot stand clicking on a link on a forum and it replaces the page I'm on.

Gawd, I despise this new system. I just gave up trying to do a post because I couldn't figure out how to properly quote just part of a previous post... something that was straightforward before the downgrade.
Bottom line... I will post less than I used to. I have yet to find a single aspect of this that's an improvement over what we had.

I've had a few ongoing negative experiences with this forum, in the past year, which have reduced my enjoyment of this hobby. This downgrade/upgrade is the latest annoyance. You and me and a few other old guys can start our own group someday...

For the last 4-5 days ? i have been trying to figure out this new format. I'am about ready to give up on it. When you have to spend 15-60 min try to navigate around and not getting anywhere it really gets to a person. What was wrong with the old system? Is there a way someone can contact me to find out how to navigate thru this NEW Forum ? The phone would be great for me. My home number is Seattle is 42five-742-4319 or 800-637-nine190 24 hour as i work out of my home. Best,Chuck ( Chippewa)

Gawd, I despise this new system. I just gave up trying to do a post because I couldn't figure out how to properly quote just part of a previous post... something that was straightforward before the downgrade. If you're having trouble figuring out how to do something that you used to do in V4.5, then just post your question in this thread and one of the younger members/staff will be happy to help you out. Now, to solve your issue... When you click the "Quote" button and go into the "Create Post" page, you can simply remove whatever text you don't want that's inside the box containing the quote. If you are used to using the old style of creating a post, just click on the "BBCode" tab at the bottom of the screen.
