Nice shot of a really unique vessel. Don't think there's ever been a vehicle ferry in BC with the superstructure so far to the back... really distinctive. Unfortunately, I've never ridden her, and probably won't have the chance before she's retired.

I believe that the Balfour is in its last summer of operation. By this time next year the new boat should be in service though, if delayed, maybe the Balfour will get one more year.

With a lowered flag following the death of the Queen, the M/V Balfour heads out from Balfour Landing for another run across Kootenay Lake. The air was thick with smoke from forest fires burning in the region when we were visiting there. That is the reason for the poor visibility in this photo.
