I've created this thread as a sister-thread to "Supernatural BC". As in that thread, this one is for your scenic photos taken in Washington State. And, also like that thread, the focus should be on the great landscapes, cityscapes, coastlines, and natural beauty of Washington State. I'll start with some of my "scenic" Washington photos: January, 2008: moon setting behind Olympics as the sun was rising in the east - taken from the Bainbridge Ferry on what used to be my daily morning commute into Seattle March, 2010: "Purple Haze" - that's what I named this particular photo. What you are seeing is the colourful Experience Music Project (EMP) in Seattle behind some yet-to-bloom trees. I liked the juxtaposition of the bare trees against the bright colours of the building. April, 2010: Alkali Lake - Sun Lakes Recreational Area in Eastern Washington, near Dry Falls May, 2010: Snowfield Peak, North Cascades, as seen from Hwy 20 near Diablo Lake November, 2010: the charming village of Poulsbo in a very winter setting October, 2011: Palouse River Canyon just downstream from Palouse Falls in Eastern Washington June, 2012: San Juan Islands and the flanks of Mt. Baker as seen from the ferry near Lopez Island August, 2012: Mt. Rainier as seen from the air August, 2012: Mt. Adams as seen from the air - looks a lot like Rainier September, 2012: San Juan Islands sunset as seen from MV Yakima October, 2012: big leaf Maple Tree at Point Defiance Park in Tacoma February, 2013: Blue Trees at Westlake Park in Seattle March, 2013: Gig Harbor June, 2013: Ebey's Landing National Historic Preserve, Whidbey Island July, 2013: The Great Wheel, Seattle September, 2013: Crow Valley on Orcas Island October, 2013: Mt. Baker at dawn as seen from ferry at Lopez Island

I guess it's time to share some of the best photos I have here. Unsurprisingly most have water or mountains in them... The ferris wheel in Seattle - last January: Seattle Ferris Wheel by SolDuc Photography, on Flickr The brothers at Sunrise - March 2013: The Brothers at Sunrise - March 25, 2013 by SolDuc Photography, on Flickr The Olympics - April 2013. Its amusing when I compare it to late summer photos how the snow can totally alter the impression mountains make: Panorama of the Olympics by SolDuc Photography, on Flickr Sunset from Medina Beach Park - May 2013: Sunset 5-9-13 by SolDuc Photography, on Flickr The hood canal with flash - May 2013: Kitsap Memorial State Park - UNEDITED by SolDuc Photography, on Flickr Brothers in the clouds - June 2013: Seattle Sunset 6-27-13 by SolDuc Photography, on Flickr An impressive sunset: Seattle Sunset 6-27-13 by SolDuc Photography, on Flickr Flower stands at Pike Place Market: Flowers, Pike Place Market by SolDuc Photography, on Flickr Sun trough the Space needle - August 2013: The Space Needle by SolDuc Photography, on Flickr Orcas in Haro Strait - August 2013: Out in the Strait by SolDuc Photography, on Flickr Seattle sunset with the sun rays - August 2013: Seattle Sunset 8-20-13 by SolDuc Photography, on Flickr Seattle sunset - August 2013: Seattle Sunset 8-22-13 by SolDuc Photography, on Flickr Painted sky - August 2013: Seattle Sunset 8-22-13 by SolDuc Photography, on Flickr Fort Vancouver at dusk - August 2013: Fort Vancouver NHP, Vancouver, Washington by SolDuc Photography, on Flickr Another sunset - September 2013: Seattle Sunset 9-4-13 by SolDuc Photography, on Flickr My namesake falls - September 2013: SolDuc Falls, Olympic National Park by SolDuc Photography, on Flickr Seattle sunrise - September 2013: Seattle Sunrise 9-20-13 by SolDuc Photography, on Flickr

Escaped the foggy depths of Puget Sound on Saturday to go and see some mountains and sun. Here are some most decidedly "Super Natural" pics from the North Cascades, proving you don't have to be in British Columbia to see spectacular mountains in the Pacific Northwest (BC just has more of them): Jack Mountain on the shores of Ross Lake Pinnacle Peak Rainy Pass with Frisco Mountain providing the backdrop Whistler Mountain is on the left, Cutthroat Peak on the right Early Winters Spires South - I like this shot, even with the lens flare Kangaroo Ridge

Kahloke isn't the only one on this board who, tired of the all encompassing fog over Puget Sound for the last week, hit the road to the other side of the Cascades for some sun. On Sunday I took off with a good friend for a hike in "Teanaway Country" located on the Teanaway River Valley just north of Cle Elum Washington. We were socked in the fog most of the way over Snoqualmie Pass when suddenly the color of the light started to change. Just as my friend and I commented on it we punched through the fog layer and found bright blue skies with not a cloud in sight. We knew it was going to be a great day for our hike. All three of the following photos are taken from Ingalls Pass / Headlight Basin on the way to Ingalls Lake. We didn't quite make the Lake ... snow conditions in Headlight Basin on the east side of Ingalls Pass were very poor with hard, icy snow alternating with treacherous postholing. The large craggy mountain in the photos is Mt. Stuart, which is Washington State's 6th highest peak. IMGP2490 by Photos by Keegan, on Flickr Note the Larch trees in the foreground...
