As previously noted, the Flagship theme for February-2014 will be your best ferry banners of calendar year 2013. ------------------- The theme criteria: - Must be your own photo - Photo must have been taken during 2013 - Must be a ferry of some sort, (passenger-only, drop-trailer only, vehicle ferry, etc). - Location is per this WCK quote: The nominations guidelines: - Regular banner size dimensions. - Make sure that your full size links work properly. Double check, and then check again. (extra fee will be charged to offenders, double-fee to repeat offenders ) - Number of nominations per person: 2 (I'm expecting lots of people to do nominations, and so a deuce-limit is necessary in order to keep the ballot to a manageable size.) The deadline: - Nominations deadline is 5:00pm on Thursday January 30, 2014. - Voting will be from evening of January 30 until the evening of January 31st. --------------

Quick addition to the rules:
The photo cannot have won a flagship contest in 2013. Nominations that previously won flagship will be disqualified.

If someone were to cheat on the dates, and we found out, that would probably be grounds for a permanent ban from the forum. - That type of integrity issue pretty much would disqualify the member from anything and everything. It would be that pervasive of a character flaw.

All my ferry photos from before 2013 aren't that good, so I would never cheat and enter one from before then. Prior to December 25, 2012, I did not have a good camera--and I wasn't that interested in ferry photography before then, either.

MP, Does this mean only photos that 'won' as in 1st place during 2013 monthly flagship 'contests', or does in include all photos that were selected for the rotating flagship (typically 6+/- monthly)?

MP, Does this mean only photos that 'won' as in 1st place during 2013 monthly flagship 'contests', or does in include all photos that were selected for the rotating flagship (typically 6+/- monthly)? Sorry for not being clear. This would include photos that made any of the rotation slots in 2013. Quick addition to the rules: The photo cannot have won a flagship contest in 2013. Just so we're clear, the photo had to be taken in 2013, and not 2014.

The Tenaka is a 'looker', and looks even better in that setting. It would be nice if she was to stay in service a few years longer, perhaps as the Wack's summer replacement on what is left of route 40.

Incidentally, both of the "best" photos I'm entering are of ferries that served together on the Seattle-Bremerton route between 1967 and 1980. (the Hyak and Yakima) One photo was taken at sunrise, the other at sunset--the best times to take photos. Full sizeFull size

Wow, Queen of Nanaimo has quite the list in that photo! I'm sure this is quite common for her, but she looks like she's going to topple over.
