A Sunday morning before 8am southbound Pacific Highway or Peace Arch. I would think they wouldent be busy at all. What do you think?? You should be okay. I'd like to point out that the Peach Arch has more booths heading into the US than the Truck Crossing, but the Truck Crossing has more into Canada than the Peace Arch....

I would probably stay overnight in Langley as hotels out there are cheaper than closer to Vancouver/Richmond if I went down which I thought Pacific Highway would be quickest from there. But at 7am I dont think there would be much of a wait anyways.

If possible, it would be cheaper to stay in the US the night before. Save yourself a headache!

that's true but getting a hotel anywhere right now it getting to be hopeless. It's the same every summer all hotels are booked only cheaper ones I can find are out in like Langley, lol! I never book in advance cause I never know if I am going for sure.

I just checked Trip Advisor, and they are showing several hotels in the Burlington/Mount Vernon area that still have vacancies for Saturday night. Bellingham looks to be pretty booked up, but that may still be a possibility for you, and I would think it would not be too difficult crossing the border Saturday night. Just food for thought.

No more than an hour wait if even that? Hate to be rude here, but Karl, you've done the crossing just as many times as most others on this Forum. You should know, just as well as anyone else here, that it is always a guessing game as to how busy the border is going to be. Give yourself plenty of time to cross, and don't worry about it. It's out of your hands.

What does the Pacific Highway Truck crossing (Fast) mean?? I have the WSDOT app on my phone it shows the border wait times and I see for Pacific Highway there is the Car, Nexus, Truck and this new Fast one. It has something to do with the commercial trucks but how is that different than the regular trucks line? I guess it's a faster option?? As PH is the only one that has it.

A Sunday morning before 8am southbound Pacific Highway or Peace Arch. I would think they wouldent be busy at all. What do you think?? Probably not. We crossed back into the US at Peace Arch a few weekends ago on a Sunday at 13:15, which I would consider peak travel time (a Sunday afternoon), and the wait times for both Peace Arch and Pacific Highway were listed at 25 minutes, according the electronic billboard before you get to the border. We stayed on 99 for the Peace Arch crossing, and it really only took 20 minutes - not bad at all for a Sunday afternoon. It does help that US entry at Peace Arch is larger than it used to be, with more lanes, etc.

Dearest Karl, Get NEXUS. $50 for 5 years, skip the line at the border, airport customs, and airport security. There are many posts of similar nature in this thread. We can end this.

Seems kinda stupid for someone to build a border right in the middle of a busy highway.

I have never had to wait more than 10 seconds when crossing into Hyder from Stewart (or vise versa). And this is in spite of there being no Lexus lane there.

Is there even a border there at Hyder Alaska??? lol! Um, Karl.....it's the division between Canada and the USA, so I think by definition there is a border there and everywhere along that area where Alaska meets BC and the Yukon. I've even heard that there's a long straight border between the edge of Lake of the Woods and the Pacific. They tried 48 different places that didn't work out, and they finally got it right on the next try. ----------- Next up, we try to explain the Northwest Angle. ps: don't go to a 54-40 concert.

Is there even a border there at Hyder Alaska??? lol! No facilities from US CBP entering the US... I suppose one could get on a boat there, and continue to some other US port, without ever clearing customs. A small little station re-entering Canada. I was shocked at how thoroughly my father and I were interviewed re-entering Canada. I mean, we were in car, so where else would we have come from? lol! We'd been in Canada for two days already! lol!!
