Salutations, my fellow ferry enthusiasts. It's my month for flagship rotation, so for this month, I would like you to submit...
...photos of ferries with pointed bows.
I am looking for ships like the Coho, BCF's main northern ships, AMHS, etc. I will also accept photos of the Silja Festival. Capiche? I look forward to seeing what you guys have in store!
Submissions will be allowed until 1800 on June 29th, but please don't leave submissions to the last minute.
Usual restrictions apply. Please submit a postable size image no more than 1024 px wide, with a link to a submission size of 1200 px x 340 px. For more information, please refer to the Flagship Rules and Information section of this board. Thanks!

Hopefully, there no stipulations to where the ferry needs to be from. I am adding a little Sicilian sizzle with the Simone Martini leaving Favignana harbour back to Trapani.

And one more...

Scott, have you considered entering your shot of AMHS's Columbia off the Ivory Island light on BC's central coast, which you shot in 2010? I would have no choice but to vote for it...

I have a feeling we'll see a lot of the Coho this month, so hopefully we can keep the submissions unique 20140620-CWC_4725 by Full Size

Call it an honorable mention, as this is not my photo, but for the enjoyment of all I want to bring up the following from Shasta MV Columbia in Portland, Oregon dry dock during her recent and lengthy overhaul. By "recent," this post references the more extensive than intended '08 drydocking.

Sol Duc, those are beautiful Alaska ferry shots. What is the common location for your Columbia & Malaspina shots? Auke Bay, Juneau?

From a former Juneau resident (who spent hours over the years next door to AMHS at the Allen Marine dock waiting for whale watch trips to return) looks like Auke Bay to me.

Anytime that our flagship contest can become an informal tribute to the work of Phil Spaulding, that is a good thing.
Phil would be smiling, this month.
