From MARPAC's Facebook: No indications of whether she'll be tied up or if her sailors will be ferried onto land by boat. No civilian visits, but you can probably get some good photos with a long lense. After the 16th, she'll head on over to the testing range at Nanoose Bay - if you're on a ferry at the time, you might encounter her!

Nimitz will anchor at Royal Roads in positions D and E; it expected that an escort vessel or two might use posistions A, B, C or F; all very visible from both the Esquimalt Lagoon road and from Saxe Point park. The "liberty" boats will ferry crew and family to the Naval docks at HMCS Malahat in James Bay. This is just below the control tower for the float plane traffic in the harbour. All arrangements are subject to change and a back up plan is in place to have the liberty boats travel to CFB Esquimalt.

Sorry, not a great photo. This is the USS NIMITZ at Everett in April 2014, as seen from Amtrak Cascades: - John H

Do we know approx time when USS Nimitz will be going up Georgia Strait to Nanoose Bay? Would be fun to see. I have not heard any times. A friend of mine heard on the radio that she won't fit into Nanoose Bay, and so they won't be entering the bay. - I don't know where they will end up.
