I do not think that weather and work will allow any more great photo opportunities for me for 2015, so here are my two nominees. The first is from July 2015, from atop Mt. Maxwell on Salt Spring Island DSCF1263aasml by Mike Bonkowski, on Flickr full size HERE------------------------- This one is from Labour Day Saturday in Victoria, at 5:52am. This was taken in July from Pilot Bay Provincial Park, at the lookout by the Pilot Bay Lighthouse (which you can actually go inside and climb up to the top). Not far from where the Cheetah was spotted near Crawford Bay last week! - John H

She got some really nice sunrise shots from Ruckle Park while the rest of us were still sleeping in the tent. You know the old saying ... The early bird gets the shot! Were you using a 'walk-in' campsite? They are nicely situated for early morning ferry watching.

Yes, it was the third week of September, and I think the kids had a pro D day on the Friday, so we just went for one night. It was a bit of work hauling everything down, but it was worth it. The campground was almost empty... I understand it can get quite crowded during the high season. If you like the peace and quiet, I'd recommend September... only problem was there was quite a heavy dew overnight, so it took a while to dry things out. - John H

My wife, son & I camped there for one night during spring break in 2004. No problem with due. It was chilly in the morning! A great spot for ferry watching this place is!
