SAR across Canada |
| Boeing-Vertol Model 107-II-28, CH-113A Labrador |
Another RCAF Labrador, but this time it's in sunny (sometimes) Lazo BC, aka Comox when it's time to pay your taxes and water bill. This is the home of 19 Wing/CFB Comox, which is home to the Search and Rescue school, a long range martime patrol squadron, the Comox Valley Air Port, and for three weeks in the spring, 431 Squadron, aka the Snowbirds Demonstration Team.
It's also where I currently am - once again a Navy type on an Air Force base, but at least this time the Navy types out number the Army types and we have our own little section of boaty bliss - HMCS Quadra. |
If someone is in harms way or life-threatening peril, one can take great solace if 19 Wing/CFB Comox is on the way to the rescue with a team of SAR Techs! They're the best in the business!

You are totally right with your compliments to the SAR Techs. As Tina Turner sings in one of her great hit songs: "Better Than All The Rest"!
