From "John H" - Administrator (from July 2003 - September 2016)
Earlier this week, I made the decision to step down as the administrator of this forum. For the last 13 years I've had the privilege of holding this title, even though in recent years I've faded into the background as the moderators have been given more responsibility on how the forum develops. And while the “Administrator” is really just a title, I think it's important that the person who holds that position has more of a presence on the forum and is more connected to the community that has grown up around it.
I'd like to thank all of the members of this forum that have made it a success. Also a special thanks to past and present moderators and global moderators who have put a lot of time and effort constantly contributing, keeping this forum presentable, bringing new ideas to the table, and making what this forum is today. To be really honest, if it depended on my time and effort, West Coast Ferries Forum would have been dead years ago. I've had the honor of having my name attached to the forum, but it has been the hard work of a whole team of moderators that has actually made it a success. So thank you for all your help.
Scott has agreed to take over the role of Administrator. I think he has the respect and trust of almost everyone on the forum, myself included. I wish him all the best.
Changing the Admin with ProBoards is a little more complicated than it probably should be. All my posts, under the “admin” username will be transferred and attributed to Scott when he officially becomes the new “admin”. To help avoid confusion, I have “signed” my name to the bottom of all my posts from the past 3 years.
In the next day or two, I will reappear as a brand-new member!
