The theme for the February-March 2017 flagship is our annual "best of the previous year" ferry photos. What we are looking for are your best, or favo(u)rite, ferry photos from 2016. Quick rules:- the photo must have been taken in 2016 - the photo must be your own - it must be a photo of a ferry, or 2, or 3... - Limit of 2 photos per person (normally, we allow 3 nominations, but due to the all-inclusivity of this category, we expect a large number of entries)----------------------------------------- Entries will be accepted until 5:00PM PST, January 29th, 2017, followed by a 2 day voting period- Preferred banner size is 1200 x 340 (pixel size), however we will accept banners down to 1080 x 300. But 1200x340 looks best. Anything outside these dimensions will not be eligible. - Please post your entries no wider than 1024 pixels, with a link to the larger image. - Please ensure all of your links work, and your thumbnail displays properly - Please note that headers that won previously in 2016 are not eligible for re-submission For the complete Forum Flagship Rules, including the new text regulations: ferriesbc.proboards.com/thread/3510/forum-flagship-rules-information(ps: this post is entirely plagerized from Kahloke's "best of 2015" thread done last year)

I am having fun working on my nominations. I have 14 preliminary shots that I'm bannerizing.
And of course, there's the chance I might take something interesting in the next month, but unlikely.
A fun process, made easier by just scrolling my Flickr account.
I am also thankful for the blue stripe on the BCFerries livery, to allow me to make sure the shot is straight.

Okay, so I'm taking this personally, as a really, really mean dig at the fact that yesterday I posted a shot of the Kahloke that was crooked. There I was, standing in the teeth of a howling gale, struggling to keep the rain off my lens as well as keep my footing, not to mention the havoc the wind was doing to what's left of my hairstyle. Some of us suffer for our art, and others show no appreciation, just sarcasm.

I am sure he won't mind letting you go out in the wind & rain with his gear.

Truth be told, I was referring to post-camera adjustments on the computer, where my software lets me adjust the crookedness of my photo. I find that adjusting along the blue-line of the ship is easier than on an uneven background coastline. But I am happy to have inspired a reply that is robust with vocabulary. ps: If this were a contest for "Best Stone Church Photograph of 2016," this would be my nomination. From today, at Butter Church near Cowichan Bay. . by Mike Bonkowski, on Flickr
