Greetings from the Moderator who doesn't post much anymore... I've still been active behind the scenes however, getting our new Social Media team off the ground and such. I have a lot going on in my personal life these days, all good things . I am making a serious run at my Canadian Ski Instructor's level 3 which is an international certification and it allows me to train and certify new Instructors too. Secondly, I'm making preparations to go travelling abroad long term, taking a year or so off from my engineering career, likely teaching skiing in New Zealand at some point. I am very much enjoying life and I'm stoked on what the future holds. On top of all of this I am juggling the engineering technician job and the Ski Instructor Job on Mt. Seymour as I always do. With everything that is going on, I'm just not able to make the necessary time commitment to moderate the forum anymore. On January 31st I will be stepping down as a Global Moderator. However, I will remain on the forum staff as a member of our Social Media Team. It's been a good 11 year run

It's been a good 11 year run A toast of dopesauce to the guy who gave our forum our professional look, who kept it fun, and who mentored many ferry nerdlings who've gone on to become major forum Jedis (I'm talking 'bout people like you, Coulson). A great legacy. Thanks for all the things you've done for this place. Thanks especially for showing us how to have fun and enjoy west-coast life.

Thanks for all the work you've put into the forum over the last decade! A well deserved retirement from moderating, who knows how the forum's early years might have gone without you.
I raise my glass to you, cheers, mate!

Thank you so much for all the the work you've done over the last eleven years, Jordan! This forum wouldn't be what it is today without you! On behalf of ferry fans all up and down the coast, thank you!
With the upcoming vacancy, I'm happy to announce Kahloke has accepted the Global Moderator position effective Wednesday, February 1st. Congratulations, Kahloke !

Thanks for all the time and energy you've put into the forum Jordan! All the best on your adventures - keep us updated.
New Zealand and Fiji have a fairly close relationship (economically/politically)... maybe you can catch a cheap flight across the water and visit some of our old boats!

Fiji is most certainly on the list of places to go while I'm on that side of the Pacific

How did I miss this!? Thanks so much Balfour for your time and effort here. It's hard to forget the days of the test forum(s), and all the effort you have put in to the behind the scenes stuff. As Scott said, the forum would definitely not be what it is today without all the work you've put in since 2006. It's good to hear we will have some US representation on the Global Mod side. Kahloke is always offering a refreshing and solid viewpoint on forum issues, and seems to be first out of the gate with those darn UK cabinet posts, so he's a natural pick.
