Unless I'm missing something, we don't have a thread for Black Ball, although we do have threads for the individual vessels. I'd like to see some more history compiled for this company, since they pioneered modern car ferry service in British Columbia. This website was linked to on the BC Nautical History facebook page. www.garylittle.ca/history/blackball.html

Didn't want to dig much deeper to post this. It came in on my Google feed on the weekend. A little history for the younger members. Hoping an admin with help with this.

Bump to signify that I moved Paul's post above into this thread. Could I suggest that this also be added to the Black Ball thread in the historical area, since that company is very much under represented on this forum? Over the years there have probably been a fair number of postings about Black Ball, but I think they're all over the place.

While you are at it I would suggest that a copy also go into the BC Ferries section, perhaps the thread "Building a Fleet, BC Ferries". The Sun article has a good bit of early BC Ferries history as well as for the Canadian Black Ball operations. I must express my frustration with who ever put this stuff together for the Vancouver Sun. They write about the M/V Tsawwassen's sister, the "Sydney". How pathetic is that.

Already posted, in the Coho thread. This thread is actually in the historic section, and concerns the old Black Ball operations in BC.
