This winter's flight saw me with Lufthansa. Vancouver-Frankfurt-Singapore out bound, a cruise to Dubai, then Dubai-Frankfurt-Vancouver on the homeward leg. 3 flights in 16 to 23 year old 747s, but all 3 having very new interiors. Obviously they will be around for a few more years. The Singapore leg was in an A380 with seating in the nose forward of the main deck door so viewing was incredible. There is a camera mounted on the underside, making the landing sequence a thrill. However the 747 was more comfortable and had an interior that just seemed to encourage loitering and standing about which is great for the legs. On the 380 you sensed the crowd aboard and it felt much for confining.
