For December-January, we are doing something a little bit different. The theme for this flagship will be the Forum's favorite ferries. But what are the forum's favorite ferries? Well, that's where you guys come in.
Basically, the idea is to use this flagship as a fun thought experiment to see what ferries are the most popular among the members of this forum. How this will work:
>In this first phase, members will weigh in with their personal favorite ferries. If you have vessels you'd like to see featured, simply name the vessel in this thread by 11:30 AM PDT on Tuesday, October 16. Each member may name up to 3 Ferries. >On October 16, a poll will be set up incorporating all suggested vessels (Sort of like a mini-flagship poll, but with ferry names instead of ferry pictures). The idea is that six ferries total will be featured: 3 BCFerries, 2 WSFerries, and 1 other vessel. (If there are any ties in this poll, they will be broken by me so that there are exactly six vessels. I will refrain from voting in this poll until the very end, at which point I will break ties.) >The official submission thread will be set up by Friday, October 19, with the theme being pictures of the six selected ferries. Typical flagship rules would apply.
Rules regarding which ferries can and cannot be submitted: >This particular theme is limited to the West Coast- Puget Sound, Coastal B.C., and Alaska. >Vessels must be either in-service or recently retired- as in, retired late enough that many members would still have photos of them in service. (For the purposes of this flagship, I'm going to say that featured vessels cannot have been retired earlier than 2012). All photo submissions must show the vessel in service. >Keep in mind how this will be broken down: Six ferries in total will be featured- 3 BCF, 2 WSF, 1 other.
So what are the most popular ferries on this forum? It will be fun to find out... Be sure to submit your favorite ferries by October 16. I'm more than happy to answer any clarifying questions. This should be a fun thought experiment...

Two of my favourites would be departed vessels, namely Queen of the North & Tenaka. Are departed vessels eligible, and if they are, how many people would have photos they could submit?
Like many others, I too am partial to the Nanaimo, but we have seen quite a bit of her in recent flagships.

Like many others, I too am partial to the Nanaimo, but we have seen quite a bit of her in recent flagships. According to the rules Snowy Ferries posted, the vessel cannot be one retired before 2012, and photos of any recently retired vessels must be from when they were still in service. So, no to Queen of the North, but I believe Tenaka would qualify.

My favourite ships are no longer active, unless you count my favourite ship of all time which is actively growing moss as it languishes on the banks of the Fraser, so I'll just mention the ones I like best which are still in service. Coho Nimpkish Bowen Queen

1 - Any member of the KDT Class (pick a name) 2 - Any member of the 72J Class (pick a name) 3 - Any member of the JM2 Class (pick a name)
These are my favorites ("favourites" to my Canadian mates). Too hard for me to chose a name from each of these classes of ferries. I'll let a moderator pick a name if desired.
