BC Ferries released a document outlining their various contingency plans for Summer 2019 possible service disruptions. This was an interesting read. The key part is a 2-page table that has various response scenarios for a disruption on each route, organized by "Day 1 to 5," "Day 3 to 7," and a Multi-Week interruption. For the minor routes, the common multi-week solution would be to bring the Bowen Queen (from Port McNeill) to the rescue, and have the Quadra Queen II go to Port McNeill. Full report HERE

Full report HERETwo things: 1. Link is not working. 2. I don’t know why they would put Queen of New Westminster in place for Queen of Alberni and Coastal Renaissance in place for Coastal Inspiration. I think it’s better to have route 30 with two boat service while route 1 or route 2 loose a vessel for a couple weeks.

If the link isn't working, then how were you able to get the information for your point #2 ? ps: I checked my link again twice now, and it works for me.

They have done as good a job as possible, all things being equal, let's just hope that any problems that do arise can be dealt with utilizing the particular segment of their plan. BCFS has obviously spent time, money and management resources preparing this contingency plan for the benefit of their passengers and crews. How many other transportation companies have provided such a plan for their customers and staff to peruse BEFORE an incident arises? Good work by BCFS
