Hello all! This is my first post to the forum after stumbling across it today. About four or five years ago, I created a free, no-ad app for tracking both the Washington State Ferries and the BCFerries. The WSF tracking data was easy to get since WSDOT provides it to developers. BCF data, not so much. I ended up subscribing to one of the popular ship tracking sites for around $75/year, then scraping the position from that. Eventually, after four+ years, they must have gotten tired of my server fetching position data from their server every minute, and encrypted their data. A quote for API access is in the $100+/month, which is way out of my budget (and this app makes me no money at all). Sadly, this means my app cannot show BCFerries anymore. I've already received some emails from riders, so I am confident that there are enough users using the app to make it worth the effort to try to get them back on the map. Does anyone have any suggestions/ideas where I could get reasonably real-time-ish data for the entire BCFerries fleet? I already have a server that is used to distribute the data to the connected client apps, so there will only be one IP address ever getting data from the source (minimal impact to bandwidth & resources). Thanks in advance for any tips.
