Air Canada uses an AirBus A330-300 on flight AC306 which is direct flights from Vancouver International Airport to Montréal–Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport. The Air Canada A330 have some different livery two are modified version of Star Alliance livery and two are regular Air Canada. I am posting these photos too show three of four livery on the A330-300. Air Canada uses an AirBus A330-300 on flight AC306 which is direct flights from Vancouver International Airport to Montréal–Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport. It's nice to see Air Canada using a widebody for transcontinental flights. That's rapidly disappearing in the US as the "Big 3" (AA,DL,UA) have found it much more efficient to run narrow-bodies on their transcontinental flights, especially as the newer 737 and A320 series aircraft have much longer legs than their predecessors, making a non-stop east coast to west coast flight possible. I think you will still see the occasional widebody aircraft deployed on larger hub city pairs, like LAX-JFK, SFO-ORD, SFO-EWR, LAX-ATL, etc, but by and large, many of those routes which use to see DC-10's and 747's back in the day, are now mainly served by 737-800 and 900 series planes, or Airbus A320 and A321 series. Delta and United still fly 757's on transcons, and those will be around a little while longer. Probably the 767 is still used, too, and that one is a widebody (barely). I think of Seattle, because that's my home airport, and it's pretty difficult to find a transcon flight on anything larger than a 757. You may still be able to get a Delta flight to Atlanta on a 767, but most of those flights are served by 757's and 737-900's. Seattle to the east coast on United is almost all 737-900 planes. American to Chicago or Dallas is likely to be a 737-800 or Airbus A321. the smaller airlines, like Alaska, JetBlue, and the like only fly narrow-bodies, so no chance of getting on a big plane there - same with Southwest, although they are not a small airline. It's just interesting to see how commercial aviation has evolved and changed over the years. I think the glory days are long gone, but that's just my opinion.

Air Canada only use Boeing 777 and 787 from Vancouver International Airport and Toronto Pearson Airport and use wide body planes on AC306. I think Air Canada will probably not switch to more frequent narrow body planes on YVR to YYZ because Air Canada doesn’t have many narrow body planes on order.

It's the best option for Canadians if Air Transat is still around in 6 months, and that doesn't seem likely.

Air Canada did not include 'dates' with this rendition of the A/C logo. TCA started in 1937 so perhaps Air Canada is waiting until the company reaches the 100 year mark.

I love JetBlue - I've flown with them from Seattle to Long Beach a couple of times. Great fares, very reasonable fee to upgrade to the premium seats.

I love JetBlue - I've flown with them from Seattle to Long Beach a couple of times. Great fares, very reasonable fee to upgrade to the premium seats. I flew JetBlue once several years ago from Seattle to Boston and back. I wasn't all that impressed with them. They were ok. The service was fine, but not really outstanding, and in coach, it was basically like coach is on virtually every other airline I have flown. The FA's on our return flight were kind of surly, too. Maybe it's a New York thing (airline is, after all, based out of Kennedy). I guess if you can afford their premium class, which they call "Mint", that's actually very good. I believe they only have that on their A321's. At the time, again several years ago, I liked Virgin America better than JetBlue. I'm sorry Virgin America didn't last. As much as I like Alaska Airlines, I think Virgin offered a better level of service.

Another unusual airline using YVR sees French Bee passing through enroute to/from Tahiti and France. They have an all A350 fleet. Air Tahiti Nui is using B787s and Air France puts B777 through. No local passenger; just fuel, crew change and servicing.

Canada 3000, Wardair, Jetsgo. All bankrupt left passengers stranded. Others looking fir refunds.
I suspect Flair will join the list within a year. Trouble already with regulatory agencies trying to determine foreign ownership levels which might be too high. All aircraft are American owned. You simply can’t pay for brand new aircraft with very cheap fares.
Stuck with Westjet and Air Canada.

The aircraft are leased even WestJet and Air Canada aircrafts are probably owned by American or any other country leasing companies.
