I'm doing some Summer-2011 planning.
- my idea is a foot-passenger day-trip, starting and ending at Sidney BC.
We'd take the morning sailing from Sidney on the WSF International route, and disembark at Friday Harbor. After enjoying Friday Harbor for a few hours, we'd take the afternoon International sailing from Friday Harbor back to Sidney.
Question: - does anyone know or have a link to the usual summer schedule for this route?
I'm curious of what the times are for the morning and afternoon (or is it evening) runs on the international-route, and whether it stops at Friday Harbor for each sailing, each way.
Thanks.

I think you're out of luck. Last summer, the first trip from Anacortes departed at 0825PDT and ran non-stop to Sidney, arriving there at 1030PDT. The first return trip departed SID at 1135PDT and ran non-stop to ANA, arriving at 1340PDT. The second round-trip did make a stop in Friday Harbor each way. You would need to spend one night in Friday Harbor to do this. On the next day, you may have a little bit of time poking into some shops and have breakfast at a restaurant before being at the dock in time for the 1540PDT westbound sailing to SID. We'll see what's in store this summer of 2011 for that run.

Yeah that is what pisses me off about the summer schedule is the evening trip stops at Friday Harbour and the afternoon sailing dosent. It's like they want you to pay to stay on San Juan Island if you go. It does in the winter but not in the summer making it harder to do a day trip from here as I have also thought of taking the ferry to Friday Harbour then sightseeing around for a few hours then going to Anacortes from there but cant do that in the summer.

Yep, what Ferrynut said....
Typically, the summer schedule for Sidney looks like this (times may vary a little from year to year) - this was from last summer's schedule, as Ferrynut described:
1st trip lv. Anacortes: 08:25 ar. Sidney: 10:30
lv. Sidney: 11:35 ar. Anacortes: 13:40
2nd trip lv. Anacortes: 14:20 lv. Friday Hbr: 15:40 ar. Sidney: 16:55
lv. Sidney: 17:55 lv. Friday Hbr: 19:20 ar. Anacortes: 20:25
