Hmm... it looked like the Saanich, but I had thought based on quick research that the Saanich was 1962 (per John's website).

That is definitely the Saanich listed for sale. The photos are clearly of her, as well she is the only V with a Hydroxl treatment system.

I see it's been a couple of months since there's been anything on the sale of these ships. Any news/whispers/rumors? When BC Ferries goes into maintenance/refit mode, will they move the remaining ships away from Deas Dock?

When BC Ferries goes into maintenance/refit mode, will they move the remaining ships away from Deas Dock? I wonder if maybe they could move them over to around to ogden point or somewhere like that. That's what they did in 1984; does anyone recall (the more mature folks on here)this? They (BCF) tied up the Burnaby and New West (believe those were the two) at Ogden point in about 1984. According to what I understand, they were at the time considered surplus - weren't for sale, but apparently it was considered an option - but eventually were put back into service as the Worlds Fair in 86 meant they would need them. I had pics of them tied up there (it was taken from a harbour tours boat, they were of course in their dogwood blue. That was a neat tour - actually also got pics of the maggie up close as it came in too Vic as well; the BCF ships were docked around where the VIP eventually called home a few years later. I really wish I knew where these pics were - along with the "famous tapes " of all the Maggie retirement stuff (man I'll be happy if I find those.lol...).
