It would follow that the glass walls of the gift shop would have generally been among the LAST things installed (to prevent things breaking/chipping those walls). Installation of the actual glass is really quick, it is getting all the tracking/hardware in place to hang/install those glass panels.

The glass has been there for a long time - there's just nothing within those walls!

I see that the Queen of New Westminster is now showing up on Siitech. Tsawwassen-Swartz is her current destination, but her Nav. Status is "Not Under Command". Nonetheless, she's gradually ramping towards leaving the docks of North Van in the not-so-distant future.

Yes, I just noticed that now. Siitech is warning users to install the new version of AIS because the current one has a bug and may not work after December 2008. ais3.siitech.net/VTSLite/AView.aspx

It just says users of AIS Server Lite need to upgrade. I log onto the professional version.

They pulled her out of her out into the middle of the harbour today and spun her around a few times.. Looks pretty good from my view point! Not sure if they're going to return her to spot at WMG drydocks or if she'll head off in a bit..

Alright guys, I checked the Route 1 RBI for SWB-TSA, and the Queen of New Westminster is not listed there! Instead, it is showing up as the Queen of Vancouver...

She is actually listed as early as Feb 2, taking the place of the Spirit of BC as the #1 out of Tsawwassen. On another note, I'm keen to see how the New West manages to maintain the following departure schedule on February 15th! ;D It appears even BCFS isn't completely sure how their ship deployment will be at that time. I'm sure it's related to when the SoBC gets her necessary repairs done.

Nickfro: I say we all split up, each of us take a sailing, and then we call each other at the end of the day to find out who actually got the New West.
Corporal: Thanks for the heads up. I'll be down in Tsawwassen tonight, so I will keep my eyes open.

She's now just south of due west of Point Grey heading south at 17.5 knots. Soon to pass under the ILS glide slopes of CYVR. Not too much longer until she's back home again.

I was on the 5:30pm from Swartz Bay and the 9pm out of Tsawwassen today and yes I can confirm the Queen of New West was docked in berth 1 at Tsawwassen. They had moved the Vancouver to berth 4. Boy was it ever cold out on the water tonight! She looked all pretty from what I could see from berth 2 with her new coastalized interior. She is suppose to take over for the SOBC Feb 2nd to March 6th.

With the QofNW back in Tsawwassen now-if B.C. Ferries doesn't have any more work that they want to do on her- Why is she not scheduled back in service until early Feb?

First time in like, what, 15 years that that's happened? in 2006 the Queens of Saanich and Vancouver were doing the odd-hour sailings in the off-season, with the Queen of Esquimalt as a third weekend boat.
