Two months and many edits later, I've now fixed most of the errors on Wikipedia about BCF's fleet. Info is now actually sourced (yay!) and it's actually correct (woohoo!). Here are the changes I made: I edited the T-class article to say that the Tachek and QQII are sisters rather than the Tenaka and Tachek. And I created a separate article for the Tenaka. Having sorted that out, I then fixed the info about the Quinitsa and Quinsam. I deleted the Q-class article that both of them were in, created articles for each, and put them in the list of unclassed vessels. I consider the Quin*-boats to be cousins--although they look similar, they do not have the same length or breadth. Because of that, I don't consider them to be sisters. Another error I've noticed is the fact that the Cappy, Cumbie, and I-sky are all considered Intermediate-class vessels. I have come to believe that they shouldn't be grouped into the same class since the I-sky doesn't look like the Cappy and Cumbie and more importantly, her length and breadth are different. Oh, and the I-Sky doesn't look as nice as the Cappy/ Cumbie. (Only the Island Sky is in the Intermediate class but in a few years, she'll be joined by three sisters.) On WCF.ca, the Cappy and Cumberland are grouped in the so-called "Cumberland Class," so I guess that's what I'll call it. When I get done correcting all these errors, I'll create articles for the HSQ and NIP, as they are currently article-less. Another thing that would be really nice is to have pictures of the ferries on Wikipedia. Many of the minor vessel articles don't have pics of the vessels. If anyone would be willing to put their pics on there, go ahead and upload them to Wikimedia Commons (the photo website for Wikipedia and other Wikimedia sites) and them add them to the respective Wikipedia ship article. Historical pics would be great too! (hint hint WettCoast) The only thing is that you have to license them under a free license (not just public domain, but also CC-BY-SA, which means "you can use my photos, just give me credit"). P.S. I've posted a lot of pics of WSF vessels on Commons (my account on Wikipedia and Commons is "Compdude123"). Mainly just exterior shots, but recently I've posted some interior photos too. I'd really love to go up to BC sometime, but that'll have to wait until I get a new passport.

I can arrange to change the license designation of certain historical BCF (& WSF/AMHS) photos that I have on Flickr if someone wishes to use them for these Wiki upgrades. Just let me know which photos you are interested in. If any photos originate from my brother I will seek his permission for them to be used.

I'm currently going thru your pictures to see which ones I like best of each ship and I'll PM you when I've figured out which ones I want.

Sorry if this has been discussed (I will read through the 4 pages in this thread when I get some time), but... I was checking what Wikipedia had to say about Crown Corporations of Canada, and BC Ferries was not on the list, either as a past or present Crown Corporation. Is this an oversight, or have I been making a poor assumption as to the history of the organization? Thanks.

It was then converted to it's present state: a private company with the government has the sole shareholder.

I might also be that BC Ferries was a 'crown corporation' of the government of British Columbia, not the government of Canada. Although BCFS is not 'legally' a crown corporation today, it remains for all intents & purposes as one, a quasi-crown corp. for sure. It is still routinely subjected to political interference, and it is absolutely dependent on large government subsidies to keep it afloat.
