About 6 or so weeks ago, I made a trip up to Langley to get some shots of the Enetai at the Langley Pier for trials after being moved there from Nichols Brothers. The boat looks really nice, and just earlier this week, she was delivered to Kitsap Transit to undergo trials and training, etc. and here she is pictured at the Bremerton Dock at the back pier for storage at the moment.

Kitsap Fast Ferry has lunch very simple survive to see if they start Southworth route without a backup vessel: www.kitsapdailynews.com/news/when-to-launch-southworths-fast-ferry-kitsap-transit-wants-to-know/I personally think that MV Enetai should taking over Kingston route to send MV Melissa Ann back to Four Season Marine. This would send the MV Commander to Southworth route. Does Kitsap Fast ferry have any plans on making Kingston, Southworth and having second vessel on Bremerton operate in midday during the weekdays and on Saturdays?

'SS San Mateo'... thanks for posting those shots of the Kitsap passenger ferries. I always like seeing posts that make me look something up. The interior of the Admiral Pete kind of looks like they wanted a classical motif, but then you look at the outside of the vessel and... it's pretty unattractive and not the slightest bit classical.
Looking up the history of the Carlisle II, looks like it went from a passenger boat to a car ferry and back again, and given the rebuilding, and its age, I wonder if there's anything original on that wooden hull. Maybe the keel? Still, so nice that she's still in service, whatever's left of her.
I looked her up, and found a website called U.S. Maritime Intelligence, with her specs. Tried using that website to look up other vessels, but every time I put in a name (Island Home, for example) it gave me tons of hits that had nothing to do with even the letter I was looking for, so I'm still trying to find a database for American ships like Canada's TC database.

On the Carlisle II, it certainly appears everything above the main deck level has been replaced, but you might be surprised how much of the hull is original. I don't know about Carlisle II specifically but I do spend a fair bit of time around old wooden boats and it's amazing how well these well built vessels hold up over the years, provided they are well maintained and in more or less continuous use. I am certainly in agreement that's it's a wonderful thing to see her still in service after 103 years.
On the subject of old wooden boats, I suggest checking out Leo Goolden's Tally Ho project on youtube. He and a team of volunteers are rebuilding a very interesting old sailing vessel of similar vintage in Sequim, Washington. Certainly there won't be much left of the original vessel when they are done. Tally Ho was not fortunate enough to be particularly well maintained over the years, and subsequently saw significant structural deterioration. She is, however in good hands now and the quality of the work being done to bring her back to life is absolutely astounding.

I have notice that King County Water Taxi has switched MV Sally Fox and MV Doc Maynard routes. I wonder they want more engine time on MV Sally Fox since it just around most of the day.

Is that really Keystone? I think it's more like Kingston. Keystone Harbor is very small in size compared to what you see in this pic and has a boat launch on the east side and RV parking on the west side as well as Fort Casey. The apron at the old slip at Keystone was manually operated. The new slip west of the old one opened in late 1980 or early 1981. The old slip remained for use by the number two vessel to make fast at night until the new double slip Harrison Street Terminal in Port Townsend opened in 1983. The old slip at Keystone came down afterwards and both ferries are home ported in Port Townsend. Kingston is most likely the one you see in this pic.

Here she is today at the Langley Pier waiting final outfitting at Nichols Brothers on Whidbey Island and eventual delivery to Kitsap Transit hopefully later on in 2020. Sorry to slightly derail this, but she's called the MV Enetai? Just like the Steel Electric that did the Seattle to Bremerton route? (Speaking of, I wonder what she's up to right now…)

(Speaking of, I wonder what she's up to right now…) Still at Pier 3 in San Francisco, I presume. As far as I know, the Santa Rosa (ex. Enetai) continues to serve as the home office for Hornblower Yachts.

I rode Finest awhile back - nice to see a nod to her history. Only real downside is the view, and I don't recall any place to sit outside.
Also, Santa Rosa is still at Pier 3 in San Francisco, but looking a bit dilapidated. Another old boat, the Klamath is destined to join somewhere nearby sometime soon (currently under restoration).

The city of Des Moines recently launched a two month pilot program for a fast ferry between Des Moines and downtown Seattle. Currently the ferry runs four round trips per day between the Des Moines Marina and the Bell Harbor Marina in downtown Seattle, using the Puget Sound Express Chilkat Express. Tickets can be bought online ahead of time, or at the dock prior to departure, as long as there is space left.
