Yeah, I've got a system figured out. The rules are basically the same but Whoever guesses the ferry right gets to do the photo the next week, then the winner of that goes onto do the week after, and so on.
Hopefully on a friday in the next week or two round 10 will start and we'll pass the torch on.
Oh BTW the Above Photo for Round 9 was indeed the NIP "ferrynutseattle" wins. Followed by Chris using the Edit Button.

Is the flag really upside down? I tried turning the picture around, but it didn't make sense.

Is the flag really upside down? I tried turning the picture around, but it didn't make sense. Yes the flag is upside down. Since some of you are way off right now I'll give you a hint, The vessel is a spaulding designed vessel. If nobody's got it by tommorrow I'll give another hint.

Are we allowed more than one guess?

I think you must be honouring the ship that has been just retired from the fleet on this first round of photo guesses. MV QUEEN OF TSAWWASSEN. Long live this mighty ship in her new endeavours!

Since some of you are way off right now I'll give you a hint, The vessel is a spaulding designed vessel. If nobody's got it by tommorrow I'll give another hint. I was just taking a wild-guess with my choice. I thought the point of the exercise was to make random guesses and then see who was lucky enough to choose correctly, by coincidence. The question was asked last spring re whether there was anything in the cropped-photo to distinguish the ferry, and I don't an answer was ever given re that. So I'm assuming it's just intended to be random guess. ;D

OK, Queen of vancouver, just cuz no one has gone there yet.
BTW, I was taught that an upside down US flag is supposedly a possible distress signal. (Or an insult, depending upon the context.) Anybody know if that goes for other flags, too?

Anybody know if that goes for other flags, too? An upside-down Canadian flag means that the Blue Jays are in the world-series.... ;D

Well it will be decades then until you see an upside down Canadian Flag then - or the Leafs are in the Stanley Cup. Whatever comes first.

Okay guessing is closed and we have a winner. For the 2nd time in a row "ferrynutseattle" wins. It was the Queen of Tsawwassen Flying the BC Flag upside down. I was originally going to use this photo. But I found it too easy and obvious. So next week's Ferry Fun Fridays host is "ferrynutseattle". So get a photo ready. Oh and BTW, some quick notes. 1. If a future winner doesn't have any ferry photos, myself or that week's host should be ready to step in with a photo. 2. Non-BC Ferries are allowed, however you must state which company the ferry runs for.

FERRY FUN FRIDAYS 2008-2009 ROUND TWO This is a bit early for me to post this, but I couldn't wait! This is my Friday as I have the rest of the week off. HERE WE GO! There may be a saying that "You are rewarded when you are at the right place at the right time". This saying is true! What a perfect time for me to be at this spot!! Here are some quizzies for you: 1 - What is the fictional character that's posing to this lens? 2 - Is the actor inside a lady or a fellow? 3 - Which Washington State Ferries vessel is this aboard? 4 - What Puget Sound location is this? The answers are being forwarded to "Ship-Rider 16", by Personal Mail, who will determine the closeout and winning declaration to this fun quiz. HAVE FUN!

1. You got me on the fictional character - I have no idea. 2. I'm going to guess it's a lady in the costume, but again, I have no real idea 3. The ferry is Wenatchee. 4. As far as the location goes, I'm going to guess Eagle Harbor, Bainbridge Island, although it could possibly be on the Seattle side. there's not enough in the picture to tell which side of that crossing this shot was taken.
