Those photographs posted by Rory McCourt are VERY difficult to view, I would venture to say Mr. Goundar has succumbed to the age-old combination of running older vessels with a scarcity of on-going funding, leading to a dismal, tragic downward spiral of his entire enterprise that I had hoped would be successful. The picture of the ex-QPR almost made me sick to my stomach.(:

Thanks Departure Bay.
If this is true than thats not good news at all for Goundar.
Glad BCF broke off the relationship a few months ago.

If old vessels cannot be properly maintained and taken care of, they might as well be scrapped after more than 40 years of service. Strange how two sister ships got so different fates. While the Chlliwack plied the Pacific in Canada and Fiji, the Ostfold ended up in Italy, where it's still going strong. www.traghetti-elbareservation.it/en/ferry-ostfold-blunavy-elba/[the article also contains the Ostfold's specifications for comparison to solve the 'shrinking' issue above]

The specs you posted for her sister show 99.5 metres, while Nauticapedia shows 93.9. The two figures are probably length overall, and length between perpendiculars. In any event, she was never 114 metres long. I wonder where the complainants got that figure.

It's possible it was length overall and included the "wings" that were attached to the ends to make her fit in the berths on the north coast. I can't find a picture right now but I recall they were quite the structure.

The former BCF QUEEN OF CHILLIWACK is now on an online puzzle site: www.jigidi.com/jigsaw-puzzle/tj71cwkb/lomaiviti-princess-in-port-at-taveuni-fiji/You hold down the left mouse button to move the pieces around and the slate as well if desired. You can use the roller thing on your mouse to zoom in and out. The contributor forgot to add the "III" to the name of the ship. There are just too many "Lomaiviti Princess" - es there in Fiji. Have fun!
