I was standing out at the end of Canada Place. The wind was blwoing, it was snowy and rainy, a typical January day for Vancouver. As I stood at Canada Place I looked to the West towards Stanley Park and heard a horn; then emerged the Coastal Renaissance from Germany on her publicity excursion into Vancouver. As she slipped through Vancouver she made her way between two passing SeaBuses and approached the Island Sky. As those on the North Shore watched the new ship turn they were privy not to just the Coastal Reniassance and the Island Sky, but also the Queen of New Westminster in her "mid life" refit at the Vancouver Drydock. Finally as the Coastal Renaissance adjusted her position for a run towards Vancouver she aligned in front of the other two formerly Fast Ferries.
That was a truly great day to be a ferry fan in Vancouver proper, and the reason I chose Vancouver.

Anacortes, Washington. - 130 km to Seattle, the best ferry city in the US.
- 130 km to Vancouver, one of the best 2 ferry cities in Canada.
- Ferry access to the Victoria Area, one of the 2 best ferry cities in Canada.
- An active international ferry terminal within the city limits, providing some of the best scenery south of BC.
So I believe that all of the above poll choices are incorrect. Isn't that a self-contradicting post there? ;D

MY vote is for Vancouver. In Vancouver, you get to A) Have easy access to Deas dock B) have easy access to at least 5 ferry routes at two major terminals C) be able to check out the ex pacificats, ex albion ferry, and many non-bcf ferry operations. BUT you don't get to A) take a vehicle ferry to the states B) NEED to take a ferry to drive anywhere east of the gulf of Georgia C) easily travel on the Sydney and Tsawwassen's almost-sister, the Coho

Well if you are in City limits then I would have to say Seattle. If you however aren't so limited the actual city it's self then Vancouver.
