I am hearing the same thing as you are, Dane.
She has been taking stores over the last couple of days, and as you have mentioned - word says she may be in service tomorrow...

**NEW INFO**
My mother spoke with one of the Chief Stewards, and apparently the Coastal Renaissance should be entering service tommorow with a Manager's Discretion (thus no affect to the schedules if an issue was to crop up) sailing at 4:00 PM from Departure Bay...

Dane, if that is apart of the SBCTA, please tell them in representation of NewFlyer and I that they are screwing up a transit system meant to set a good example for the rest of North America

Well I'm on light duty today at work, but I'm not sure if it will be light enough for me to get out early. I would assume the sailing on the Horseshoe Bay side might be 6:00pm, which means I would have to be out of here no later than 4:30pm. Hmm, we'll see what happens.

The CR is not listed as doing any sailings on BCF Current Conditions (hereinafter referred to as CURCON) today. Looks like if the CR does go on an MDS today, it'll be a complete surprise.

That is what a Manager's Discretion sailing is - a complete surprise...

If she is in fact going to be in service all Day Saturday I will aim for the 10:30 and 12:30 sailings (DB-HB). I just have to be at Woodgrove Mall in Nanaimo by 6:24pm for the last transit bus to Parksville.

Well guys, I just pulled some media strings and talked to the folks at the DB terminal and they haven’t heard anything about any sailing today. However, they did say that there will be an official ribbon cutting and ceremony for the Saturday sailing!

Somebody hold on to a copy of that... Can you imagine people scrambling around 30 years from now trying to find it because someone posted a question on the forum about what the service schedule was for the Coastal Renaissance when she first entered service.

I just saw that press release too! I don't think that eliminates the chances of a round trip happening today or tomorrow. As Scott mentioned, it'll be a 'complete surprise' round trip voyage.

I agree - look at the refurbished C's, the first voyage was always a day or two before the released first sailing day. Wasn't the case for the Norad, but she has a very different operational situation.

Well, guess what? I'm going to be on the very first confirmed sailing of the Coastal Renaissance on the 8th at 3. If you wanna meet me again, you can.

I plan to be on the Cowichan's 12:30 sailing from Horseshoe Bay then the Coastal Renaissance's 3PM maiden voyage from Departure Bay. If any of the mainlanders wish to join, I plan to be at HSB at around noonish.

Ok, this is good. We are still going to be on her official first sailing.
Do you guys think there is a chance of any first sailing paraphernalia?
Cheers,

I will be at Departure Bay early around 1pm or so in plenty of time to catch the 3pm out of Departure Bay and hopefully find parking, lol!

Just looked at the Departure Bay webcam and the terminal lot is practically empty. Don't see this 4pm CR sailing happening. . .perhaps on the busier Friday it may happen.

I just checked back the CC page and a 4pm sailing is now listed out of Departure Bay on the Coastal Renaissance only about 20% full!!
